Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr. vs. Tim "Soul Taker" Tszyu

154-lb Clash Heads Down Under July 25th

On PBC PPV via Prime Video!

(May 1st) Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and No Limit Boxing today officially announced one of the most compelling crossroads bouts of 2026: former unified welterweight world champion Errol "The Truth" Spence Jr. will make his long-awaited return to the ring against former WBO junior middleweight champion Tim "Soul Taker" Tszyu. The 12-round junior middleweight clash is set for July 25, 2026 (U.S. time), with the event airing live as a PBC pay-per-view on Amazon Prime Video. For fans in Australia, the fight takes place on Sunday, July 26, 2026 (local time), on Australian soil. A formal launch press conference is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026, in Las Vegas, where both fighters will face off publicly for the first time.

The bout will mark Spence's long-awaited debut at 154 pounds following his devastating ninth-round stoppage loss to Terence Crawford in their undisputed welterweight clash in July 2023 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, a fight in which Spence was dropped three times in a one-sided affair that ultimately altered the trajectory of his career. For American fans, the timing of the Australian broadcast converts neatly into a Saturday night U.S. television slot, providing maximum commercial reach for both promotions.

The fight will take place on Australian soil, with possible host cities including Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast's Cbus Super Stadium, which holds approximately 27,000 spectators. Exact venue details are still being finalized. The full undercard has not yet been announced; further details, including supporting bouts, are expected to be confirmed at this weekend's Las Vegas press conference. Tickets are not yet on public sale. Fans are encouraged to register for alerts via Premier Boxing Champions and No Limit Boxing's official channels ahead of the pre-sale announcement.

Spence, 28-1, 22Ko’s, now 36 years old, has not competed since his loss to Crawford, nearly three years ago, a fight that cost him his unified titles and raised questions about his future in the sport. A southpaw standing 5'10", Spence reigned as the simultaneous WBC, WBA, and IBF welterweight champion and was widely regarded as one of boxing's premier pound-for-pound fighters during his dominant run. The move up to 154 pounds represents both a fresh start and a calculated risk against a naturally bigger, active opponent, a demanding comeback assignment rather than a safe tune-up.

Spence is currently training with Ronnie Shields as he prepares for what is unquestionably the most significant chapter of his professional life. A victory over Tszyu would immediately reinsert him into the title picture in a talent-rich 154-pound division currently featuring champions such as Sebastian Fundora, Jaron Ennis, and Xander Zayas, as well as dangerous contenders like Vergil Ortiz Jr.

Tszyu, 27-3, 18Ko’s the 30-year-old son of Hall of Fame legend Kostya Tszyu and Australia's premier boxing star, enters as the former WBO junior middleweight titleholder. He has been far more active than Spence, competing seven times since Spence's last outing. Despite three losses in that span, including two stoppages, Tszyu rebounded with a dominant victory over Denis Nurja in April 2026.

In a significant development ahead of the bout, Tszyu has appointed Australian great Jeff Fenech as his new trainer after dramatically parting ways with Cuban coach Pedro Diaz, his second major team overhaul in six months. Fenech, a former three-weight world champion and one of Australia's finest fighters in history, has declared his belief that Tszyu can one day become Australia's greatest-ever fighter. Fenech was direct about his mandate: "Every fight he's ever had he's only ever had Plan A, and because it worked for so long he's never had to change it. But now he's at that level — he's fighting guys like Errol Spence and he's got to have levels; he's got to have an A, B, and C plan, and I plan to give him that."

The fight's location on Australian soil gives Tszyu a massive home-field advantage and fulfills his desire for a major domestic superfight. For Tszyu, a decisive victory over a former pound-for-pound fixture like Spence would represent the signature win of his career and cement his status as his country's biggest boxing export since his father.

Jeff Fenech (on Spence): "Errol is one of the best fighters of the last decade — something truly special."

Prime Video now airs 12-14 fights annually, showcasing high-profile matchups and rising stars in the sport.

The platform offers flexibility for viewers, allowing both Prime members and non-members to purchase and watch PPV events. In addition to live broadcasts, Amazon integrates features like merchandise sales, ticket promotions, and other interactive elements to enhance the viewing experience. Recent notable events include Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach Jr. and Sebastian Fundora's title defense against Chordale Booker.

Prime Video's entry into boxing aligns with its broader strategy to become a leading entertainment destination by offering diverse sports content. This move places Amazon in competition with platforms like DAZN and ESPN, further expanding boxing's reach through digital streaming.
