Eubank & Papot Set For Pivotal Welterweight

Main Event At London's Copper Box Arena!

(July 15th) Harlem Eubank returns to the ring on 18 July 2026 when he faces France's David Papot in a pivotal 12-round welterweight main event at London's Copper Box Arena. Promoted by Misfits Pro and broadcast live on DAZN, the contest represents a significant crossroads fight for two highly skilled European contenders looking to strengthen their positions in the international rankings and move closer to world title opportunities.

Fighting out of Brighton, England, Harlem Eubank, 22-1, 9Ko's enters the bout determined to continue his climb toward world level after an impressive rebound victory over Josh Wagner in November 2025. Eubank produced a disciplined and dominant boxing display to earn a unanimous decision, with scorecards of 100-90, 100-90 and 99-91, controlling the contest from the opening bell behind a sharp, accurate jab and superior movement. The performance came after the first defeat of his professional career, a technical decision loss to former world title challenger Jack Catterall, allowing Eubank to quickly re-establish himself among the leading contenders at 147 pounds.

Currently ranked No. 15 by the IBF, Eubank views the Papot fight as another crucial step toward breaking into the governing body's top ten and positioning himself for bigger opportunities in one of boxing's deepest and most competitive weight divisions. Long regarded as one of Britain's most technically gifted welterweights, Eubank has consistently expressed his belief that he belongs among the elite names in the division, and a convincing performance in London would further strengthen that claim.

Standing opposite him is experienced French southpaw David Papot, 30-1-1, 5Ko's, who arrives eager to bounce back following the first defeat of his professional career. Papot was outpointed over twelve rounds by highly regarded Australian contender Liam Paro, losing a unanimous decision on scores of 116-112, 116-112 and 117-111. Despite that setback, Papot remains one of Europe's most respected technicians, known for his awkward southpaw style, defensive discipline, ring intelligence and durability. His professional record also includes a seventh-round stoppage victory over Josh Wagner in late 2024, highlighting the different challenges both fighters present despite sharing a common opponent.

Papot's only other blemish came in 2019 when he fought to a draw against James "Buddy Jnr" McGirt, before embarking on an extended unbeaten run that established him as one of France's leading welterweights. While he has recorded only five knockout victories in 32 professional contests, Papot has built his reputation through intelligent boxing, tactical versatility and an ability to frustrate opponents over the distance.

One of the most intriguing storylines heading into the fight is Papot's left-handed stance. The Frenchman will become only the third southpaw Harlem Eubank has faced as a professional. Eubank's previous encounters against left-handed opponents have produced mixed results, with one victory and one defeat, the latter coming against fellow southpaw Jack Catterall. Papot's movement, angles and counter-punching therefore present a stylistic puzzle that could prove pivotal over twelve rounds.

Although Eubank enters as the naturally bigger puncher and home favourite, many observers believe Papot possesses the technical ability and ring IQ to make this one of the most competitive European matchups of the summer. The contrast between Eubank's sharp jab, athletic footwork and fast combinations against Papot's awkward rhythm, defensive awareness and southpaw angles promises a fascinating tactical contest rather than an all-out firefight.

With both men seeking to revive or accelerate their world title ambitions, the stakes extend well beyond victory alone. For Eubank, success would likely move him closer to the IBF's top ten and keep him firmly in the conversation for major international fights. For Papot, defeating a highly ranked British contender on away soil would immediately restore his momentum and re-establish him among the leading names in the European welterweight scene.

The Copper Box Arena, which has hosted numerous memorable nights of British boxing, provides a fitting stage for a contest carrying genuine significance at world-ranking level. As two accomplished technicians collide with careers at pivotal moments, Harlem Eubank versus David Papot shapes up as a high-quality, high-stakes welterweight showdown that could prove decisive in determining the future direction of both fighters' careers.

The Harlem Eubank versus David Papot main event will be supported by a strong lineup of emerging British and European talent, with several unbeaten prospects and domestic title contenders featuring on the undercard at London's Copper Box Arena.

The chief support sees two unbeaten welterweights collide as Galway, Ireland southpaw Kieran Molloy, 14-0, 7Ko’s takes on Kent's Sean Noakes, 12-0, 5Ko’s in a ten-round contest for the IBF European Welterweight title. Both fighters enter with perfect professional records, making this one of the most intriguing matchups of the evening. Molloy's southpaw stance and technical ability will be tested against Noakes' pressure, power and growing reputation as one of Britain's most promising welterweight prospects.

Another highly competitive ten-round bout features Surrey's Joel Bartell, 10-1, 5Ko’s facing Welsh southpaw Kyran Jones, 14-0, 1Ko at middleweight. The 24-year-old Bartell brings sharp punching and aggression, while the unbeaten Jones has built his reputation around intelligent boxing, movement and defensive awareness.

The vacant BBBofC English Super Lightweight title will be on the line when Sutton, Surrey's Aaron Prospere, 15-2, 4Ko’s meets Chingford, London's Mikey Sakyi, 14-5, 5Ko’s over ten rounds. Both men have shared the ring with strong domestic opposition and will view the opportunity as a chance to secure a major career milestone.

An all-southpaw welterweight battle also features among the ten-round contests, with West Ham's Finley James, 9-0 taking on Welling's Jake Henty,  9-0, 2Ko’s for the vacant BBBofC Southern Area Welterweight title. The clash between two unbeaten fighters adds further intrigue to an already competitive card, with both looking to claim their first major championship.

The undercard continues with a series of evenly matched eight-round contests. Hull super featherweight Codie Smith, 9-0-1, 1Ko faces Dudley's Ryan Griffiths, 8-2-3, while St Albans featherweight prospect Christian Bozzia, 7-0 meets Liverpool's Kurtis “Wiggo” Wiggins, 5-0-1.

At lightweight, Chatham's Tumi “God’s Own” Phillips, 6-1, 1Ko takes on Wembley-based Youssef Khoumari, 18-3-1, 8Ko’s in what promises to be an entertaining technical matchup between two experienced operators.

The heavyweight division is represented by Coventry giant Matty “Magic” Harris, 10-1, 7Ko’s, who stands at 6'8" and faces Battersea's Ben “The Butcher” Vickers, 3-4-2, 1Ko over six rounds.

The event also features several rising prospects continuing their professional development. Gloucester featherweight Jay Pitman, 5-0 is scheduled for a six-round contest against an opponent to be confirmed, while Ealing southpaw JP O'Meara, 7-0, 1Ko also returns over six rounds at featherweight. Galway's 18-year-old southpaw Jamie Barrett, 1-0 rounds out the announced card with a four-round welterweight contest against a TBA opponent.

With unbeaten prospects, domestic title fights and established contenders all sharing the bill, the supporting cast provides a strong platform around the headline clash. The depth of the card reflects Misfits Pro's continued push toward showcasing competitive matchmaking alongside major international bouts, ensuring the Copper Box Arena hosts a full night of meaningful contests rather than relying solely on the main event.
