Hulu and ESPN Announce

New Unscripted Fight Competition Series

From Wheelhouse and Most Valuable Promotions,

With Jake and Logan Paul To Coach

Rival Teams In New Combat Reality Show!

(September 10th) Hulu and ESPN have announced a new unscripted combat-sports competition series from Wheelhouse and Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), with Jake Paul and Logan Paul serving as executive producers. The currently untitled series, previously known by the working title Fight Island, is scheduled to enter production in 2027, with casting now underway.

Built around a high-stakes format in which eliminations are determined inside the ring rather than by audience votes, the series will bring together a field of male and female fighters from across the combat-sports world. Competitors will be divided into rival teams coached by Jake and Logan Paul, living and training together as they prepare for the competition.

But the real strategy begins before the fights. Fighters will have the power to choose their opponents, transforming alliances, rivalries and personal relationships into strategic weapons. After each matchup, the losing fighter will be eliminated from the competition, with the field ultimately narrowed to one male and one female winner.

The competition is expected to draw from a broad range of disciplines, including boxing, MMA, wrestling, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai and karate, creating a diverse field of athletes and styles.

“This series takes everything we love about competitive combat and turns it into a high-stakes survival spectacle for today’s audiences,” said executive producers Jake Paul and Logan Paul. “You choose your opponent, fight to stay, and have nowhere to hide. The fighter-first mentality is changing the industry; we can’t wait to see who has what it takes.”

The series is produced by Wheelhouse and Most Valuable Promotions. Executive producers include Brent Montgomery, Glenn Hugill and Courtney White for Wheelhouse; Nakisa Bidarian and Jake Paul for Most Valuable Promotions; and Logan Paul, Will Nothacker, Shyam Balse, Josie Lamberth and Charlie Ebersol.

For MVP co-founder and executive producer Nakisa Bidarian, the series represents another expansion of the company's efforts to bring combat sports to new audiences.

“This project is the latest step forward for MVP as we continue to disrupt sports and entertainment with high-impact, innovative opportunities that define the future of combat sports,” Bidarian said. “We’ve always believed there is a major, untapped market to bring new audiences into combat sports by telling compelling stories around the athletes, and this format takes that idea to another level. Partnering with Wheelhouse, Hulu and ESPN to bring our vision to life gives us an incredible platform to introduce the next generation of fighters and create a competition unlike anything fans have seen before.”

Wheelhouse CEO and executive producer Brent Montgomery said the project reflects the company's focus on developing original formats around major personalities.

“Wheelhouse was created for moments like this, bringing a high concept to life with massive stars who create bold new content, unmistakably their own, that connects authentically with their fans,” Montgomery said. “With Disney, MVP and the Paul brothers, we are well equipped to build out singular IP that can live across multiple platforms, and beyond the screen.”

Casting is currently open to prospective competitors, with applicants being sought from professional and amateur combat-sports backgrounds. Production is slated to begin in 2027.

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) was founded in August 2021 by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian with a fighter first ethos. Since inception, MVP has produced 30 live boxing events, currently promoting nearly 60 fighters, 16 world champions, and 26 top contenders.

MVP has led boxing’s evolution in the streaming era through partnerships with the world’s leading platforms. In November 2024, MVP’s Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson and Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano 2 was the first-ever live professional sports event streamed on Netflix. Paul vs. Tyson shattered records, becoming the most-streamed sporting event of all time with 125 million live viewers worldwide. MVP went on to partner with Netflix twice in 2025 for MVP’s Taylor vs. Serrano 3 and Jake vs. Joshua: Judgment Day.

Today, MVP is the global home of women’s boxing. MVP’s Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano in 2022 was the first female fight to headline Madison Square Garden, while Taylor vs. Serrano 2 in 2024 saw 74 million viewers globally on Netflix and became the most-watched professional women’s sports event in US history with 47 million AMA in the US. Their 2025 trilogy on Netflix topped an all-women’s megacard that set the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the most world championship belts ever contested on a single fight card, male or female, with 17 world titles, earning nearly 6 million viewers globally.
