Matchroom Boxing Confirms Birmingham Undercard
For Whittaker vs Wallace On October 3rd!
(August 18th) Matchroom Boxing’s brand new signing Odel Kamara makes his highly anticipated professional debut on the Ben Whittaker vs Connor Wallace undercard at Utilita Arena in Birmingham on October 3 - live worldwide on DAZN.
Dubbed as Britain’s most exciting amateur, having won seven National Titles, 22-year-old Kamara will be entering the ring for the first time as a pro with renowned trainer Tony Sims in his corner.
Kamara said: “It starts October 3 in Birmingham. I promise to give the fans excitement so they know what I’m all about. This is the start to a busy end to the year.”
Also featuring on the undercard is fan favourite Bilal Fawaz, 12-1-1, 4Ko's as he makes the second defence of his British Super Welterweight Title having beaten a tough opponent in Ishmael Davis in February.
This return to the ring against Eithan James, 17-2 comes as part of a multi-fight contract extension with Matchroom Boxing.
“I am delighted to announce my extension with Matchroom Boxing,” said Fawaz.
“I believe I’ve delivered every opportunity I’ve had but the journey is only just getting started. I will become World Champion.
“Even the strongest of men run from danger. I am that danger.”
Whittaker, 12-0-1, 9Ko's fresh from his stunning US debut last month, returns to home soil at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Saturday, October 3 as he looks ahead to his toughest test to date when he goes up against Australia’s, Conor Wallace, 17-1, 12Ko’s in a final eliminator for the IBF Light Heavyweight Title.
“Ben Whittaker, who once again had the world of Boxing on its feet with his breathtaking performance in New York, has World Titles in his sights, he’s got the toughest test of his career to date on home soil in Birmingham on October 3 against a hungry Conor Wallace.
The brilliant “Surgeon”, Whittaker dazzled on his American debut last month with a two-round demolition of Richard ‘Popeye’ Rivera at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The Brit, ranked No. 2 by the WBC and No. 3 by the IBF, is now neatly positioned by the respective governing bodies to contend for major honors.
And he has his sights firmly set on defeating Aussie, Dublin-born, Conor Wallace to lay down a marker in the Light Heavyweight division, in front of his home fans at Birmingham’s Utilita Arena on Saturday, October 3.
Whittaker said: “I am delighted to be bringing a big night back to Birmingham again after a successful trip to the States. This is a proper step up on my way to becoming World Champion and I’m excited to put on a special performance for you all again. See you all on October 3.”
Another fighter looking to take home the highly sought after Lonsdale belt is Walsall fighter Hamza Uddin, 6-0, 3Ko's who challenges Sean Bruce 8-2 for the British and Commonwealth Flyweight Titles.
Uddin said: “On October 3rd I will put on the best performance of my life and send shockwaves through the division.
“I’ll be the first British Bengali fighter to win the British Title and that will be very special for me and my family.”

Through the 1990s Matchroom Sport’s boxing roster featured many of the biggest names in the sport including Lennox Lewis, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and Naseem Hamed, all in world title fights and it continues to work with some of the biggest names in UK boxing including Audley Harrison, the 2000 Olympic Super-Heavyweight gold medalist.
Over the years, Matchroom Sport has built up long-standing relationships with broadcasters around the world and with the advent of the Prizefighter phenomenon, the company’s boxing division has never been in a stronger position.
From fantastic six round scraps between the sport’s journeymen, up to multi-million-dollar World Championship contests featuring the above fighters, the Pro Box series has it all.
