(August 5th) Mexican star and Interim WBC Super Lightweight Champion Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz will return to the ring on Saturday, September 19, when he defends his title against once-beaten Puerto Rican contender Nestor Bravo in a 12-round main event from Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California.

The Premier Boxing Champions event will stream live on DAZN, with coverage scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT. 

Cruz, 28-3-2 with 18 knockouts, brings his relentless, pressure-heavy style into his first scheduled title defense following a hard-fought majority draw with Lamont Roach Jr. last December. The 28-year-old Mexico City native is seeking his first victory as Interim WBC champion and will fight in Southern California for the first time under the guidance of trainer Eddy Reynoso.

Bravo, 24-1 with 17 knockouts, enters the biggest opportunity of his career. The 32-year-old Puerto Rican contender rebounded from the only loss of his professional career by stopping Pedro Campa inside two rounds in January, and now aims to upset one of the division’s most aggressive and recognizable fighters.

The co-main event features another high-stakes Interim WBC championship bout, as Jesús “Mono” Ramos Jr. meets unbeaten mandatory challenger Meiirim Nursultanov in a 12-round middleweight clash. Ramos, a rising Mexican-American contender and current Interim WBC Middleweight Champion, will put his belt on the line against Kazakhstan’s Nursultanov, who enters unbeaten at 20-0 with 11 knockouts.
