Behind The Scenes Of Training Camp!
(May 18th) Top Rank takes you inside heavyweight contender Richard Torrez Jr.’s intense training camp as he prepares for the biggest fight of his career—a massive showdown against Frank Sanchez on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Rico Verhoeven card at the historic Pyramids of Giza on May 23rd.
Torrez Jr., the 2020 Olympic silver medalist, is chasing a world title shot and opens up about his mindset shift going into this camp: no longer driven purely by external pressure, he’s now focused on perfecting his craft.
The footage highlights his collaboration with coach Bomac, who is helping refine Torrez Jr.’s technical skills and address weaknesses in his game. Torrez Jr. describes his grueling regimen—training 2–3 times daily, including strength and conditioning at the UFC Performance Institute, plus boxing sessions at Top Rank gym—seven days a week, with only Sunday reserved for a long run on Mount Charleston.
It’s a rare, intimate look at what it takes for an elite amateur-turned-pro heavyweight to gear up for a career-defining bout against one of division’s top contenders.
