Malachi Urquhart Signs With Dragon Fire Boxing,

Sets Sights On World Title!

(May 1st) Rising Queensland, middleweight prospect, Malachi Urquhart has officially signed with Dragon Fire Boxing, one of Australia’s leading boxing promotions, marking a pivotal step in his pursuit of a world title.

A decorated amateur who captured the Australian Amateur Middleweight title before turning professional in 2025, Urquhart, 1-0-1, 1Ko brings an undefeated pro record to the Dragon Fire stable. He has already registered a firstround stoppage victory over Eli Radley and a hardfought majority draw against Jonathan Tuhu, both performances under the Dragon Fire banner. His blend of power, ring IQ, and youth has positioned him as one of Australia’s most promising prospects in the middleweight division.

By signing with Dragon Fire Boxing, Urquhart joins a team that has managed several notable worldrated fighters throughout its history. While its roster frequently rotates as fighters progress through their careers, some of the key names associated with the stable include Jason Moloney (former World Champion), Andrew Moloney, Bruno Tarimo, Reagan Dessaix, Liam Callanan, Fano Kori, and Ryan Daye. The promotion, led by manager and promoter Tony Tolj, is known for its highly popular Thunderdome fight series held at Metro City in Northbridge, Western Australia, where rising stars are groomed alongside established names.

“It’s an exciting time for me to sign with Dragon Fire Boxing,” said Urquhart. “They have represented a lot of great fighters and have helped them reach the top. It means a lot to have them representing me, and it’s a privilege to have them so early in my career. I feel the timing is great.”

Urquhart highlighted the importance of training alongside top professionals in the Dragon Fire gym. “Being in the same stable as Jason, Andrew, and Bruno is a huge part of my future in boxing. They have been at the top for a long time now, and for myself, seeing firsthand in the gym what it takes to get there is only going to benefit me in the future.”

He added, “I want to be the best version of myself. With the right team and path, I believe the best version of myself can become a world champion in the future.”

Tolj welcomed Urquhart into the Dragon Fire fold as a longterm project, emphasizing his belief in the young fighter’s potential. “Malachi is a great talent who I am fortunate to be able to develop alongside legendary trainers Tony Nobbs and Angelo Hyder. This is not a shortterm project; we will back Mal all the way so he can achieve everything he is capable of.”

Urquhart also sent a message to his rivals in the division: “Come see me!” — a rallying cry for opponents as he prepares to climb the rankings through Dragon Fire’s Thunderdome events.

“It’s an exciting time ahead, and I look forward to the journey together with the whole team and unleashing the ‘Malachi Crunch,’” he said, referencing his powerful style and aggressive approach in the ring.

For fans, Urquhart’s signing signals the beginning of a new chapter in Australian middleweight boxing. With Dragon Fire Boxing’s infrastructure, promotional reach, and proven track record of developing champions, Urquhart is poised to take the next step toward the top of the professional ranks.
