Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington 2:
Launch Press Conference!
(November 27th) Leigh Wood vs. Josh Warrington 2 is officially on, with a heated launch press conference setting the tone for a grudge rematch in Nottingham on February 21, 2026, live on DAZN.
Former world champions Leigh “Leigh-thal” Wood, 28-4, 17Ko’s and Josh “The Leeds Warrior” Warrington, 32-4-1, 8Ko’s came face to face in a fiery launch press conference on Thursday to officially announce their rematch on February 21, 2026, at Nottingham Arena, to be streamed live on DAZN. The bout comes more than two years after their dramatic first meeting in October 2023, when Wood scored a seventh-round stoppage in a fight Warrington insists was halted too early.
Promoter Eddie Hearn framed the sequel as a high-stakes domestic showdown between two of Britain’s most accomplished featherweights, highlighting the rivalry, the bad blood over the controversial stoppage, and the intensity of both fanbases. Wood, fighting at home in Nottingham this time, spoke about cementing his legacy and removing any doubt from the first fight, while Warrington vowed revenge and floated the idea of forcing a third bout at Elland Road if he wins the return.
Wood acknowledged that retirement is on his mind but insisted that a convincing win over Warrington would be the perfect way to close this chapter of his career. Warrington, a two-time world champion, stressed that he felt in control for long stretches of their first bout and blamed the referee’s intervention for denying him the chance to recover and continue. Both teams traded barbs over the stoppage and game plans for the rematch, heightening anticipation for what is being billed as one of British boxing’s must-see clashes of 2026.
