“Unstoppable Force vs. Immovable Will”

Mary Spencer vs Mikaela Mayer

October 30th In Montreal!

(August 30th) The lights of the Cabaret du Casino de Montréal will shine a little brighter October 30th as two of the sport’s most accomplished fighters Mary Spencer and Mikaela Mayer collide in the main event of Eye of The Tiger Management’s “Clash of Champions”.

In what promises to be one of the standout boxing events of the year. Montreal’s, own Mary Spencer, the reigning WBA Super-Welterweight Champion, will put her belt and her legacy on the line against Colorado Springs, Colorado’s, Mikaela Mayer.

October 30th, Camille Estephan'sEye of The Tiger Management presents more than a championship defense or a historic title pursuit. It's the collision of two elite fighters meeting at their respective peaks—a classic boxing narrative pitting raw power against technical mastery, local hero against globe-trotting contender. When the final bell sounds in Montréal, only one woman will claim her place in boxing history. It’s the kind of fight that feels bigger than statistics or scorecards, the rare "Champion vs Champion" meeting that embodies everything fans love about boxing: heart, skill, and the pursuit of greatness.

The 40-year-old, Spencer, 10-2, 6Ko’s the stage couldn’t be more fitting. Born and raised in Windsor but fighting out of Montréal, she has become a symbol of Canadian boxing excellence, both as a decorated amateur and now as a world champion. Her journey from a three-time amateur world titleholder and Pan American Games gold medalist to WBA world champion has been one of resilience and reinvention. After winning the belt September 2024 with a ten round unanimous decision over Frankfurt, Germany’s, Naomi Mannes successfully made her first defense April 10th with a ten round unanimous points win over Caracas, Venezuela veteran, Ogleidis “La Nina” Suarez proving not only that she can reach the mountaintop, but that she has the tools to stay there.

Spencer fights with power and conviction, her six knockouts signaling not just strength in her punches but also her ability to finish when the moment demands it. In Montréal, she won’t just be fighting for herself — she’ll have the roar of Canadian fans urging her forward, amplifying every jab and combination she throws. But across the ring, Spencer faces a different kind of challenge.

At 35 years old, the 2016 Olympian and former IBF/WBO World Super Featherweight and WBO Welterweight Champion, Mayer, 21-2, 5Ko’s chasing immortality with a third world title represents pedigree in its purest form. Hailing from Woodland Hills, California, Mayer already conquering two weight divisions and carving out a reputation for technical brilliance and relentless competitiveness going toe-to-toe with the best only two defeats come by way of narrow split-decision losses to Alycia Baumgardner and Natasha Jonas. Now, with her eyes on a third divisional crown, Mayer is motivated by legacy. To achieve it in Spencer’s backyard against a younger, stronger natural super-welterweight would etch her name deeper into boxing history.

On paper, this matchup presents a compelling contrast of styles and strengths. Spencer enters with significant physical advantages in raw power, natural size, and the energy of fighting on home turf. Mayer in the opposite corner comes with a wealth of experience, technical refinement and the versatile skill set that has enabled her success across weight classes for all the ingredients needed for an explosive, fan friendly contest.

A victory for Spencer, would solidify her place as Canada’s boxing queen and mark the defining moment of her professional career. For Mayer, the fight is a shot at history a third world title and the chance to prove, once again, that she belongs in the conversation with the sport’s all-time greats.

Also scheduled for action on the Eye of The Tiger Management bill are five undefeated fighters. Toronto's North American Boxing Federation Super Lightweight champion, Arthur "The Wolf" Biyarslanov, 19-0, 16Ko’s, Montreal's WBC Continental Americas Light Heavyweight Champion, Mehmet Unal, 13-0, 11Ko’s and Christopher "Machine Gun" Guerrero 15-0, 9Ko’s, Quebec's Thomas "The Ghost" Chabot, 11-0, 8Ko’s and Montreal-based 20-year-old Armenian prospect Erik Israyelyan, 2-0, 2Ko’s all seeing action against opponents to be named soon.
