On November 20th, 2012, Hector “Macho” Camacho and his friend, Adrian Mojica Moreno, were sitting in a black Ford Mustang in Bayamon, P.R. when two men drove by and shot multiple times into the car.

 

Moreno was shot twice and died at the scene while Camacho shot in the face and shoulder was immediately rushed to the nearby Puerto Rico Medical Center, where doctors also found Camacho to also have sustained fractured his vertebrae in the shooting. Both attackers fled the scene after the shooting, and they were never caught by Puerto Rican law enforcement.

 

Age 50, Camacho having suffered a heart attack was declared braindead was taken off life support and died November 24th, 2012 four days after the shooting.

 

Note:

March 10th, 2022, 5 suspects were finally arrested a decade after killing of iconic boxer Héctor "Macho" Camacho.

 

June 10th, 2022, the Hector 'Macho' Camacho murder case was dismissed after star witness flees. San Juan, Puerto Rico — A judge dismissed a case against five suspects charged in the 2012 killing of renowned Puerto Rican boxer Héctor “Macho” Camacho after authorities said the star witness fled the island.
