1900: Patsy Donovan KO9 Frank Welch - Bantamweight Championship of United States - Welch died from injuries sustained in this fight. Donovan arrested and tried for manslaughter, later acquitted.

1952: Danny Nardico RTD7 Jake LaMotta - Nardico stops former world middleweight champion LaMotta in 7 rounds in a light heavyweight non-title bout in Coral Gables, Florida; LaMotta is knocked down for the only time in his career, his corner stopping fight after the round.

2006: Brooklyn, New York, super welterweight, Kemal Kolenovic passed due to injuries occured when he was struck by a vehicle outside of a restaurant in the Bronx. Kolenovic had earlier tried to break up an altercation inside the restaurant between several patrons. Moments later, a car traveling at a high rate of speed ran him down as he stood on the curb, just outside the restaurant.
