1925: Battling “Senegal” Siki light heavyweight was found in the early morning hours of in "Hell's Kitchen" New York City lying face down with two gunshot wounds in the back: one bullet in the lung and another in the kidney. A revolver with two exploded shells was found in the gutter not far away. Detectives believed he had gotten into a brawl in one of the numerous speakeasies / nightclubs in the neighborhood, and that after that altercation he was followed into the street and struck down from behind. He was felled in the same spot where the previous summer he had been attacked and almost killed with a knife.
