Set to Collide BKB 47: Leeds Brawl II!

(October 6th) Brooklyn, New York's Paulie "Magic Man" Malignaggi will face Ely, Cambridgeshire, UK's, Tyler "El Tornado" Goodjohn in the main event of BKB 47 on October 18th, at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.

 

The 44-year-old two-weight world boxing champion held the IBF Junior Welterweight title from 2007 to 2008 and the WBA Welterweight title from 2012 to 2013. Throughout his decorated boxing career, Malignaggi faced elite opposition including Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Juan Diaz, Amir Khan, Adrien Broner, Zab Judah, Shawn Porter, and Danny Garcia. His final professional boxing match came on March 4th, 2017, when he suffered an eighth-round knockout loss to Smethwick's, Sam "The Savage" Eggington.

 

In 2019, Malignaggi made his bare-knuckle boxing debut under the BKFC promotion, dropping a controversial 48-47 decision to Artem Lobov. After signing a three-fight deal with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing in 2025, the speedy tactician aims to rebuild his reputation and pursue a bare-knuckle world title.

 

The 34-year-old Tyler "El Tornado" Goodjohn, 5-3, 1Ko, a former English Super Lightweight Champion in professional boxing transitioned to bare-knuckle competition in 2017 becoming the first Englishman to fight for a Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) World Title, losing a 48-47 unanimous decision to Tony Soto, May 12th, 2023 at BKFC 42 in Greenville, South Carolina. "El Tornado" enters the “Magic Man” showdown coming off a on April 19, 2025 unanimous decision victory over Joe Smith at BKB 40 in Cardiff.

 

Originally set to face Malignaggi on September 6th, with the bout was postponed after Malignaggi suffered a sprained thumb during training the highly anticipated matchup will now unfold inside the BKB Trigon, pitting American crossover star's accomplished boxing credentials as an against Goodjohn's battle-tested, gritty, crowd-pleasing bare-knuckle style October 18th at First Direct Arena in Leeds, England.

 

Zagreb, Croatia’s, Marko Martinjak, 11-2, 11Ko’s, the reigning BKB Super Cruiserweight champion and the #1 ranked Cruiserweight in the world by Boxrec, looks to join LT Nelson as a two-division concurrent BKB champion when he challenges Birmingham, England’s, Dan Podmore, 8-3, 7Ko’s for the BKB Bridgerweight title.

 

Last time he fought in front of his hometown crowd, Leed’s Scott McHugh, 13-5, one of the sports most accomplished fighters, fell short in a BKB Super Welterweight fight against Liam Rees. He looks for his second straight win when he faces 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medalist Joe Fitzpatrick of Belfast.

 

BKB 47 supported by a full undercard featuring Aaron McCallum vs Liam Howell, Jack Dugdale vs Reece Murray, Alex Wilson vs Steven Evans, Jordan Ward vs Pat Nash, Furqan Cheema vs Patryk Fornalski, Chris Carroll vs Ryan Gibbs, Marshall Furey vs Liam Cullen and Dean “Smudger” Smith vs Shaun Cooper.
