(March 5th) Live from Glasgow, Scotland, we bring you the launch press conference for "Land of the Brave", featuring a highly anticipated main event where former undisputed champion Josh Taylor faces off against Ekow Essuman, a formidable titleholder in his own right. The event also showcases a stacked undercard, including Lee McGregor, Nathaniel Collins, Aloys Jr., David Jamieson and Aston Brown among others. This marks a significant return of boxing to Scotland, with the event set to be broadcast on DAZN, the new home for Queensberry Promotions' fights.
Haddington, Scotland, former undisputed super lightweight world champion Josh “The Tartan Tornado” Taylor will make his welterweight debut against Nottingham, based Botswanan, WBO European Welterweight Champion Ekow “The Engine” Essuman, May 24th, at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.
The 34-year-old, former undisputed light welterweight champion Taylor, 19-2, 13Ko’s looking to reboot his career at welterweight returns after back-to-back losses — a June 2023 decision to Teofimo “Takeover” Lopez and a May 2025 rematch defeat to Jack “El Gato” Catterall.
The 35-year-old, Essuman, 21-1, 8Ko’s since suffering a BBBofC British, Commonwealth Boxing Council and IBF European Welterweight title loss to Harry Scarff, November 2023 enters the fight with momentum, most recently recording a WBO European Welterweight title claiming tenth round TKO stoppage of Owen Cooper July 2024 successfully making his first defense a ten round majority decision win over Ben Vaughan in his last outing November 2nd, 2024
The 12-round bout to headline a Frank Warren, Queensberry Promotions card to be broadcast live on DAZN marks Queensberry's return to Scotland and the beginning of their partnership with DAZN.
In chief support will be an all-Scottish featherweight clash between unbeaten former British champion Nathaniel Collins, 15-0, 7Ko’s and former European bantamweight champion Lee McGregor, 15-1-1, 11Ko’s.
