Serhii Bohachuk vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr.

(July 11th) The undefeated knockout monster Vergil Ortiz Jr. (21-0, 21 KOs) of Grand Prairie, Texas and Vinitza, Ukraine’s WBC Interim Super Welterweight World Champion Serhii “El Flaco” Bohachuk (24-1, 23 KOs) will host a press conference on Thursday, July 11 at Golden Boy HQ to discuss their upcoming fight for Bohachuk’s WBC Interim Super Welterweight World Championship title.



The world championship fight is presented by Golden Boy Promotions in association with 360 Promotions and TGB Promotions. It is scheduled for 12 rounds and is set to take place at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, August 10, 2024. The exclusive fight night will be broadcast worldwide on DAZN beginning at 5:00 p.m. PT.

 

Grand Prairie, Texas, Vergil Ortiz Jr. gets new opponent for August. It has been reported 26-year-old Vergil Ortiz will be climbing through the ropes again in August, but previously scheduled to face Aussie, Tim Tszyu will now face of versus LA based Ukrainian, Serhii “El Flaco”Bohachuk.

 

Tszyu forced to withdraw from the August 3rd Riyadh Season pay-per-view from Los Angeles due to a recommended healing time due to a severe cut sustained versus Sebastian Fundora in March.

 

The 26-year-old, Ortiz, 21-0, 21Ko’s, inactive due to some health matters following a ninth round TKO win over Michael McKinson, August 2022, returned to action moving up and crashing the 154lb division, backing a January 6th 2024 first round stoppage of Fredrick “General Okunka” Lawson with a

one round bang out of Thomas Dulorme in April.

 

The 29-year-old, Bohachuk, 24-1, 23Ko’s coming off 2023 KO wins over Nathaniel Gallimore and Patrick Allotey enters off a WBC Interim World Super Welterweight title claiming twelve round unanimous decision win over Brian Mendoza in March.

 

Ortiz Jr. vs Bohachuk will not make the August 3rd, Terence Crawford vs Israil Madrimov card but will instead headline an August 10th bill in Las Vegas.
