It's Official: Canelo & Terence Crawford

Set To Go September 12th!

(May 4th) Boxing fans worldwide can mark their calendars for one of the most anticipated matchups in recent history. Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Terence Crawford will face off on Friday, September 12th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada, the home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders. This super middleweight clash will feature all four major world titles - the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO - along with The Ring magazine championship on the line.

The announcement came moments after Canelo Alvarez, 63-2-2, 39Ko’s secured a 12-round unanimous decision victory over William Scull in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reclaiming the undisputed super middleweight championship. Judges scored the bout 119-109, 116-112, and 115-113 in favor of Alvarez, who now holds the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring titles at 168 pounds.

Terence "Bud" Crawford, undefeated with a record of 41-0, 31Ko’s, entered the ring immediately after Alvarez’s win to confirm the matchup. Crawford, a four-division world champion and two-time undisputed titleholder, recently moved up from light middleweight (154 lbs) after capturing the WBA and interim WBO light middleweight titles in August 2024. This fight will mark Crawford’s debut at super middleweight (168 lbs), stepping up to challenge Alvarez’s dominance in the division.

The bout is promoted under the newly established TKO Boxing brand, a collaboration between UFC’s parent company and Saudi Arabian sports official Turki Alalshikh. UFC CEO Dana White will co-promote the event, marking TKO Boxing’s inaugural card. The broadcasting platform and additional surprises will be announced soon.

Both fighters expressed respect and excitement for the showdown. Alvarez called Crawford "among the best," welcoming the challenge to defend all his titles. Crawford described the fight as the "biggest of the decade," promising to showcase greatness on fight night.

This event is expected to be a landmark in boxing history, with a massive live audience capacity of 65,000 at Allegiant Stadium and global viewership. It promises to be a defining moment in the careers of two of boxing’s greatest pound-for-pound fighters.
