Stanionis vs Ortiz Gets New Date!

(January 25th) The WBA secondary welterweight titleholder Eimantas Stanionis has recovered following an emergency appendectomy in early January, which forced him to postpone the mandatory defense against Vergil Ortiz Jr.


Originally scheduled for March 18th it has been announced Eimantas Stanionis and Vergil Ortiz Jr. will now headline a Golden Boy on DAZN card, on April 29th with the fight still planned to be held at a venue in the Dallas area.


The winner of the Stanionis and Ortiz Jr. bout will become the mandatory to WBA “Super” titleholder Errol Spence Jr. who is tentatively scheduled to take on WBC mandatory challenger and former unified titlist Keith “One Time” Thurman sometime this spring.


Kaunas, Lithuania’s 28 year old, Stanionis, 14-0, 9Ko’s comes in off a WBA World Welterweight title claiming twelve round split decision over California based Russian Radzhab “No Mercy” Butaev in April.


Grand Prairie, Texas, 24 year old, boxer / puncher, Ortiz, 19-0, 19Ko’s enters off an his second successful WBO International Welterweight title defense August 6th, stopping Portsmouth, United Kingdom’s previously unbeaten Michael McKinson in nine rounds.

Vergil Ortiz Jr vs Eimantas Stanionis Postponed!

(January 7th) Due to Kaunas, Lithuania's, Eimantas Stanionis undergoing emergency appendectomy surgery on Friday, his March 18th mandatory WBA World Welterweight title defense versus Grand Prairie, Texas, Vergil Ortiz Jr. scheduled to be streamed on DAZN has been postponed.


The winner between the 28-year-old, Stanionis, 14-0, 9Ko’s and the 24-year-old, Ortiz, 19-0, 19Ko’s of Grand Prairie, Texas, would have been mandated face Desoto, Texas, WBA “Super” titleholder Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr.
