MTK Global Signs Advisory Deal With Gavin McConnell!

(January 29th) MTK Global is delighted to announce an advisory deal with two-time world title challenger Gavin McDonnell.

The move sees MTK Global working alongside McDonnell’s manager Stefy Bull to guide the Doncaster fighter’s career, looking to build on the tremendous success that has seen him win the European and British super-bantamweight titles during his incredible career.

McDonnell (22-2-2, 6 KOs) challenged for world honours in both 2018 and 2017, and he’s excited to see what the future holds after teaming up with MTK Global.

McDonnell said: “I’m really looking forward to working with MTK Global. This is the fresh start I’ve been needing and the opportunity to work with another leading name in boxing, so I’m grateful.

“MTK Global are leading the way so to be a part of that team is very exciting. I can’t thank my manager Stefy Bull enough for negotiating this deal and believing I’ve still got some big nights in me.

“I’ve had a scheduled European title fight as mandatory challenger against Andoni Gago since last March. He’s highly ranked by all the world governing bodies, and as high as 5th with the IBF, so winning that would be a big achievement.

“It would see me win two European titles at two weights and put me in line for another possible world title fight. I’ve stayed in the gym all year working with Stefy and Ray Doyle knowing what’s at stake.

“I want more big nights as I didn’t start boxing until I was 25. I still feel fresh and I still have goals and I want to win more titles and make my sons proud. With MTK Global I know this can be achieved.”

MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton added: “We’re thrilled to be welcoming Gavin McDonnell to the team. We’re confident that alongside Stefy Bull we can help Gavin once again become one of the best fighters in the world.

“There are some massive fights out there for Gavin, including a mandatory European title fight against Andoni Gago, so we can’t wait to get him back in the ring as soon as possible.”

Martin Bakole Signs Advisory Deal With MTK Global!

(January 22nd) MTK Global is delighted to announce an advisory deal with world-ranked heavyweight contender Martin Bakole.

Bakole (16-1, 12 KOs) is ranked #14 with the WBA and also holds the WBC International title, following his unanimous decision win over Sergey Kuzmin back in December.

The 27-year-old Congolese star is based in Scotland working under the tutelage of highly-respected trainer Billy Nelson, and the duo are confident of going all the way to the top after teaming with MTK Global.

Bakole said: “I’m really pleased to be signing an advisory deal with MTK Global. I know that they have what it takes to help me achieve my dreams of becoming world champion.

“The big fights at heavyweight are what I want, and I am certain that MTK Global will be able to secure them for me.”

Trainer Billy Nelson said: “We’re thrilled to be joining forces with MTK Global. They’re the biggest management company in the world and we’re convinced that they’ll do what is best for Martin Baloke.

“Martin has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and now with somebody as big as MTK Global backing him, we are all looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish.”

MTK Global Vice-President Jamie Conlan added: “We’re delighted to welcome Martin Bakole to the team. He’s a great addition to MTK’s stable.

“The heavyweight division is the strongest it’s been in years and Martin Bakole is right in the mix. Together with Billy Nelson we believe Martin will become world champion.

“There are some big nights ahead for Martin which has everyone at the team excited for the future.”

Josh Taylor: “I Feel Unbeatable at the Moment!

(January 21st) Josh Taylor has revealed that his confidence is at an all-time high – and he believes he will knock out Jose Ramirez when they have their expected undisputed showdown later this year.

WBA and IBF super-lightweight champion Taylor (17-0, 13 KOs) looks set to collide with WBC and WBO super-lightweight champion Ramirez (26-0, 17 KOs) in a massive battle this summer.

The two unbeaten fighters are both confident of victory, but Taylor has explained just why he is so certain that he will get his hand raised.

Taylor told IFL TV: “I’ve got my dream fight, and it’s about winning the fight more than anything else. I really do believe I’m going to beat him and knock him out.

“My confidence is through the roof since my last three fights. Without getting big-headed, I feel like I’m unbeatable at the moment. I think it’s going to take a real special fighter for me to get beat, or I’ll just have to have a really bad night.

“Ramirez is up against it as well. He’s up against a man that is hungrier than him, and I feel like I’m a better fighter, who is more skillful and more spiteful.

“He is a unified world champion and a good fighter, but I just believe I’ve got the beating of him in every department.”

MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton added: “It’s great to welcome Mo Gharib to the team. He looked to be on the verge of challenging for Area and English titles before COVID hit, so we’ll look to get him out as soon as we can and help him get back to where he needs to be.”

News on when Croxson, Giles and Southgate will have their first bouts as MTK Global fighters will be announced in due course.

MTK Global Sign Three Exciting Debtants!

(January 20th) MTK Global is delighted to announce the signings of amateur talents Jimmy Croxson, Joe Giles and Lewis Southgate ahead of their plans to turn professional.

Croxson had an impressive amateur career, with the highlight coming when he won the Haringey Box Cup at the age of 18. Giles was just as successful, winning multiple national titles including the Junior ABAs, while Southgate also picked up two national titles and won four gold medals at Box Cup competitions, including the Haringey Box Cup.

Croxson said: “I am very excited to be joining MTK Global. They are taking over and look like they are doing the most with young fighters coming through. It feels good to be under the same roof as the likes of Billy Joe Saunders, Tyson Fury, Josh Taylor and the other great fighters.

“The change over from amateur to professional will suit me better, and in 2021 I am hoping to have a few fights to get my name out there.”

Giles said: “I’m over the moon to be signing with MTK Global. They are by far the best in the business and I can’t wait to get this journey started.

“It feels a privilege to be on the same team as so many good names, and to see what they have achieved in the sport motivates me so much every day.

“I’m already adapting well from the amateurs and feel I’ll definitely be stronger as a professional. I’ve been with my new coach Riley Wilson for over six months and we are working very well together.

“I’m definitely hoping to have a good number of fights under my belt to get me knocking on the door for titles as soon as possible. I’m confident with my skill set and feel I’ll be a great addition to MTK Global.”

Southgate said: “I’m thrilled to be getting my professions career off to a start with MTK Global, who I believe is the best management team right now. I know they will do what they can to help me reach my goals and fulfil my potential.

“I feel like the transition from amateur to professional has come natural to me as people always said I had the style for professional boxing, but with a few adjustments with my team and little things we have been working on week in week out I feel like I have come on loads already in a short time as a boxer and a overall athlete

“In 2021 I want to get my name out there as much as I can and begin to make statements straight away. I don’t see why I can’t be pushing for Area and English titles very soon.”

MTK Global Promoter Lee Eaton added: “We’re thrilled to welcome these three talented fighters to the team. Jimmy Croxson, Joe Giles and Lewis Southgate all had plenty of success as amateurs and we can’t wait to see what they are capable of in the professional ranks.”
