McDonnell vs Inoue: May 25th In Tokyo!

(March 6th) Doncaster, Yorkshire, UK’s Jamie McDonnell will head to Japan to defend his world title against Yokohama, Japan’s Naoya “Monster” Inoue, May 25th, LIVE on Sky Sports from Ota-City General Gymnasium, Japan, Tokyo.

 

The 31-year-old, McDonnell, 29-2-1, 13Ko’s burying 2007-2008 back to back points losses to Chris Edwards Lee Haskins with 21 straight victories, first claiming the vacant World Boxing Association World Bantamweight Title with a tenth round TKO stoppage of Tabtimdaeng Na Rachawat, May 31st, 2014 has made six successful title defenses (Javier Nicolas Chacon-TKO10, Tomoki Kameda-UD12, rematch Tomoki Kameda-UD12, Fernando Vargas-TKO9, Liborio Solis-W12) comes off a November 4th, 2017 title retaining third round no-decision rematch with Liborio Solis with the bout being stopped in the third round after McDonnell suffering a cut over his left eye from an accidental head-clash was found unable to continue by the ringside physician before the completion of the fourth round making it a no decision.

 

The 24-year-old, World Boxing Organization World Super Flyweight Titlist, Inoue, 15-0, 13Ko’s riding a five bout KO run comes off 2017 knockout victories over Ricardo Rodriguez, Antonio Nieves and Yoann Boyeaux in his last outing December 30th.
