BillyCBoxing 2012 Hall Of Fame Inductees Announced!

Lake George, NY – After an extremely successful inaugural 2011 Induction weekend, 2012 looks to be bigger and better!

For the past four weeks, members of the BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame panel, which consists of the 2011 inductees, select members of the press and BillyCBoxing Contributors, submitted their thoughts from a ballot which listed ten posthumous and twenty living nominees. Each panel member was asked to select five from each group.

On today’s Talkin Boxing With Billy C TV & Radio show, the 2012 inductees were announced:

Posthumous 2012 BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame Inductees: Former World Champions, Henry Armstrong, Jack Johnson, Harry Greb, Joe Louis, Willie Pep and Billy Costello.

Living 2012 BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame Inductees: Former World Champions, Tony “The Tiger” Lopez, Tony DeMarco, Terry Norris, Tim Witherspoon, Buddy McGirt and Juan LaPorte.

“We had an interesting situation”, stated Bill Calogero, AKA Billy C. He continued, “After adding up all of the votes, we had a tie for the 5th spot, so rather than choose, I decided to induct both. I had already planned on inducting Billy Costello because he helped me come up with the concept of our Hall of Fame. I think this year is fitting that we have added twelve into the BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame.”

Billy C went on to say, “What makes the BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame different from the others is that the inductees have a say in who gets in. This year’s inductees will help us with next year’s nominees, and so on. Another thing is that we had two female fighters on our Ballot and both received votes. Last year was great, but this year will really be something!”

The BillyCBoxing Hall of Fame Induction weekend will take place November 16th, 17th and 18th, 2012 in South Glens Falls, NY. There will be activities scheduled for all three days. All of last year’s inductees are expected to attend this year’s ceremonies and it’s anticipated that most of this year’s inductees and or family members will be in attendance.
