January 21st, Asylum Arena, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: In the main event of NBC's Inaugural "Fight Night" North Philly heavyweight Bryant "Bye Bye" Jennings remained unbeaten with a ten round unanimous decision over Washington DC's Maurice "Freight Train" Byarm.

Jennings and Bryant jumping at the opportunity to fight when the previously scheduled main event between Eddie Chambers and Sergei Liakhovich fell through when Chambers suffered fractured ribs during training provided an entertaining two way action bout.
Jennings giving away over twenty pounds was the stronger quicker fighter using his speed and agility scoring by jumping in and out on the stalking Byarm.
Byarm closed the space in the middle rounds making it a fight backing Jennings to the ropes scoring on the inside. The later rounds were back and forth battles with the scoring very tight.

Jennings grabbed the edge in the tenth and final round by getting off first and being the busier and more accurate fighter.
The judges scores were announced 97-93, 96-94 times two for Jeninngs who winning the Pennslvania Heavyweight Title improves to 12-0, 5Ko's while Byarm falls to 13-1-1, 9Ko's.

The semi main event matched Philly light middleweight Gabriel "King" Rosado against Mexico's Jesus Soto-Karass. Rosado started quickly throwing sharp power punches countering Karass jab with looping right and left hooks.
Karass would pick it up in round two but Rosado right would still be the difference. The "King" poured it on in the third banging away to the body and head opening a cut over Soto-Karass’s left eye.
In round four Karass face began to show the signs of war with Rosado on a roll and in complete control rocking the tough Mexican several times.
Karass corner attempting to gain some time with a timely spilling of the ice bucket before round five falling short when the "King"went right on the attack landing volleys of rights and hooks on his now defenseless opponent forcing referee Steve Smoger to put a halt to the beating at 2:06 of round five.

The up and down Rosado winning his last five improves to 19-5, 11Ko's while the tough Karass drops to 24-7-3, 16Ko's. A confident Rosado stated after the bout “I’m telling you I’m ready for whoever. That’s that statement I wanted to make today. Whoever it is, Canelo, I will fight Canelo. I will fight whoever, man. That’s my attitude and I’m confident in my ability."
Undercard results: Welterweight Ray Robinson decisioned Doel Carrasquillo 78-74, 79-73 times two over eight welterweight Jose Peralta Alejo out pointed Lenwood Dozier 60-54 times three over six, light heavyweight Sullivan Barrera out scored Damar Singleton 59-55, 60-54 light welterweight Naim Nelson ruined the pro debut of Pedro Andres shutting him out 40-36 times three.

Former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion
& 1996 Olympian Sergei Liakhovich
Sets Chambers Story Straight Calls Out Arreola
(January 18, 2012) - Former world heavyweight champion Sergei "The White Wolf" Liakhovich is not fighting this Saturday because his scheduled opponent, "Fast" Eddie Chambers, failed in a timely fashion to notify Team Liakhovich that he was pulling out of their fight due to broken ribs, which resulted in the cancellation of their fight as well as insufficient time to find a suitable replacement for Chambers..
Liakhovich (25-4, 16 KOs) and Chambers (36-2, 18 KOs) were scheduled to headline Saturday's NBC Sport Network's "Fight Night" debut show live from Philadelphia's Asylum Arena.
"Eddie Chambers is trying to save face in the press but I want to set the story straight by telling everyone what really happened," Liakhovich said. "Chambers' medical report about his broken ribs is dated, January 6, 2012. He knew about his broken ribs back then but he didn't let us know until January 13, seven days before our fight. Instead of shooting his mouth off to the press for a week about how easily he was going to beat me, when he already knew he was not going to fight me, he and his team should have acted professionally and immediately informed my team of his injury. If we had two week's notice, I have no doubt that finding a suitable replacement and making training adjustments wouldn't have been a problem, but it was a serious problem trying to do so with only seven days to go before the fight.
"I think boxers like Chambers should be punished by every promoter and networks should know how he operates. He plays the good guy to the press, but Chambers is a fake. He didn't have the simple decency to tell another athlete about him pulling out of the fight as soon as he knew. It was his obligation to inform everyone immediately.I wasted six weeks of training, as well as the expenses for training camp, and now I'm not fighting because of his actions. NBC Sport Network, Main Events and everyone involved had to scramble to put together a main event at the last minute, all the results of Chamber's action. He is all talk and no action. So, for now, Chambers is history."
Liakhovich, a 1996 Bellarusian Olympian, captured the World Boxing Association ("WBO") heavyweight title in 2006 by way of a unanimous 12-round decision over Lamon Brewster.
Already in top shape for his now cancelled fight against Chambers, Sergei is now targeting world heavyweight contender Chris Arreola. "Arreola is waiting for another big payday to fight one of the Klitschkos," Liakhovich commented. "He's been fighting journeyman after journeyman. How about a real fight with me? I challenge Arreola to take a fight with me. This is a fight boxing fans would love to watch."

Sergei Liakhovich Trains with Floyd Mayweather Sr.

(Photo Credit: Richard Powell - FIGHTSAGA.COM)
(November 2nd) Never one to sit idle, Sergei "The White Wolf" Liakhovich (25-4, 16 KO), trained with Floyd Mayweather Sr. in Las Vegas recently. The two seemingly diverse personalities found some common threads. They both love boxing and they both like to win just as much. Sergei is thirsty to learn more of the mental aspects of the sports, more finesse and footwork. Mayweather thinks he is just the guy to teach Sergei the "slick-ness" as he puts it. Sergei was pleased with the time he spent with Mayweather and said he will return to Las Vegas in about 2 weeks to continue training with Floyd Sr.
Sergei commented about training with Mayweather, "I am not the type of person that can just sit around and wait. I have to keep busy. I needed to get in the ring and train. I feel I must always learn. I have what it takes and with the right teacher I can win the championship again. You have to use your mind as well as your body. Floyd can teach me the tricks to take my power and use it as a lighter, smaller fighter would. I feel he (Mayweather) can take me to a new level."
Mayweather had this to say, "I see a lot of potential in Sergei. He's a tough guy. He just needs to fine tune and refine, I can help him do that. I can help him slip and slide, give him the footwork, the "slick-ness" he needs to outclass the big heavyweights out there today. I can demonstrate, so that he can dominate. We have just begun, once he really starts training with me you're gonna see a whole new Sergei."
During Liakhovich's heroic performance this past August against Robert Helenius (16-0, 11 KO) the fierce heavyweight warrior certainly proved that he is worthy of future championship challenges. In the early rounds of that gutsy and bloody battle the former Heavyweight Champion's nose was broken in two places but he continued to wage war in what would prove to be one of the most respect worthy, fan pleasing, boxing performances of the year.
An announcement for a fight in the first quarter of 2012 is expected to be made soon.

Liakhovich Back In Training!

(September 30th) During the third round of his fearless, bloody campaign against Robert Helenius in Erfurt, Germany this past August, Sergei "White Wolf" Liakhovich suffered fractures of the bones located high on the bridge of both the right and left sides of his nose. His courageous battle through the remaining brutal rounds garnered him a multitude of new fans who having been sending emails praising Sergei's heart, determination and skills.
Kathy Duva, Main Events CEO, was impressed, "Despite the fact that Sergei was bleeding profusely from two fractures of his nose and swallowing blood from the third round on, Sergei kept himself in the fight and put on one of the gutsiest performances that I have seen in a boxing ring in a very long time. In my opinion, had he not been gasping for breath throughout the fight due to his fractures, Sergei would have won the bout. Even with his injuries, he appeared to be getting the best of Helenius during many of the rounds. Had Sergei not been injured, I have no doubt that we would have seen a very different result."
After a relatively short recovery period, Sergei is anxious to get back on track to a world title, "I am back in training. I feel great. I'm working on my overall physical and strength conditioning right now, in fact I just came back from hiking. I will be back in the boxing Gym this coming week."
Sergei spoke of his war with Helenius,"I believe that challenges make you stronger, that you always need to learn from your experiences and make the necessary adjustments. In my case, one of the things I need to do first is to change my corner situation. I have the great support of my Promoter Kathy Duva and my attorney and advisor Tony Cardinale. I also would like to say thank you to everyone, to all my fans for your good comments and great support."
"Right now my focus is on getting back in the ring as soon as possible. I need to fight regularly and to stay active. I want to fight good fighters and I will do whatever it takes to get back to the top."

Liakaovich Courageous Performance Delivers
Heavyweight Excitement
(August 27th) After turning in a thrilling, gutsy and bloody performance last night vs. Robert Helenius, in Erfurt, Germany, Former Heavyweight Champion Sergei Liakhovich was taken to a local emergency room in the early morning hours where a CT scan revealed that the warrior's nose had been broken in two places during the bout.
Gasping for breath from early in the third round when the first fracture occurred, until the fight was stopped in the ninth by veteran referee Stanley Christodoulu, Liakhovich suffered fractures of the bones located high up on the bridge of both the right and left sides of his nose.
"Sergei was unable to breathe through his nose from the moment the first break occurred in the third round," Manager Tony Cardinale said. At the same time, Liakhovich began to swallow copious amounts of blood as he attempted to catch a breath through his mouth.
"Sergei proved last night that he is one of the toughest fighters in the heavyweight division." Cardinale continued. "Despite a painful handicap that made it nearly impossible for him to take a proper breath, Sergei kept on coming. Even after the knockdown, he came back swinging. Had Sergei not been so severely injured, I think he would have won the fight."
Doctors, last night, advised "The White Wolf" to remain at the hospital and have immediate surgery under general anesthesia. However, later on Sunday morning, a surgeon determined that the bruising and swelling was too severe to operate right now.
Liakhovich, whose trip back to the US has been postponed due to travel restrictions caused by Hurricane Irene, intends to have the necessary surgery later this week when he returns to his home in Arizona.
"Those who say that there are no exciting fighters in the heavyweight division haven't been paying attention," promoter Kathy Duva of Main Events said. "Sergei has now participated in two of the most action-packed heavyweight fights of the past 10 years and he let me know this morning that he wishes to remain as active as possible as soon as he recovers."
The Belarusian, who has been inactive for 17 months due to a contractual dispute, a training injury and an injury suffered by Helenius earlier in the summer, fought under the Main Events banner for the first time, last night.
"A fighter needs to stay active to be sharp," Duva continued. "While fighting through the pain and barely able to breathe, Sergei actually improved his performance during the middle rounds as his timing started to come back. When Sergei fully recovers from his injuries, Main Events intends to treat Sergei's fans--and I know he made a lot of new ones last night--by keeping him very busy."

Joel Julio Returns with Decision Win,
Olympian Sadam Ali Makes it 13-0!

By: Phil Arroyo
May 20th, Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey: In the featured bout of Kathy Duva’s Main Event card former hot Colombian Joel Julio recorded back to back wins with a ten round one sided decision over the defensive minded Anges Adjaho crediting the last minute replacement with his fifth straight defeat a 99-91, times three unanimous decision loss. Julio fighting mostly at light middleweight looks to make his mark in the tough welterweight division. Julio improves to 37-4, 31Ko’s while Adajho winless in his last five slithers to 25-6, 14Ko’s.

In the semi main event Brooklyn, New York 2008 US Olympian, welterweight Olympian Sadam “World Kid” Ali won an eight round unanimous decision over Golden Meadow, Louisiana’s John “Renegade” Revish but not without the bout having it’s moments. Ali showed his superior skills early dropping Revish in round two but he the courageous Revish retaliated staggering staggered Ali with a a right hand high on the head in round four but couldn’t follow up allowing Ali to regain his bearings and go on to close the round well punctuating it with a solid left hook.

There was a 16 minute delay between rounds four and five due to a power outage after which Ali resumed control until the eighth and final round. In the eighth round the plodding Revish caught the Olympian with a counter right hand left hook combo followed by another clean right wobbling the unbeaten prospect for the second time then surprisingly unlike a "Renagade" threw few punches allowing the chance of a career changing upset win to drift away dropping a 79-72 times three decision advancing the “The World’s Kid” to 13-0, 7Ko’s while dropping his third straight settling for 9-4-2, 8Ko’s.
