Devastating Dulorme Wins By KO1,
Gonzalez Wins Hard fought Decision!
In the main event, Dulorme (14-0, 11 KOs), of Carolina, Puerto Rico, captured the vacant North American Boxing Federation (NABF) welterweight title with a devastating 2:12, first-round knockout over late substitute Aris Ambriz (16-3-1, 8 KOs) of Azusa, Calif. Gonzalez (15-0, 13 KOs), of San Juan, P.R., opened the telecast with a solid, hard-fought unanimous 10-round decision over Billy Lyell (24-11-2, 5 KOs), of Youngstown, Ohio, at Chumash Casino Resort.

Dulorme mostly overwhelmed Ambriz, twice knocking him down, the first time with a powerful left hook. A wobbly Ambriz, who took the fight on one week's notice after Jose Reynoso withdrew with an injury, made it to his feet, but moments after absorbing a couple more solid shots, went down from a right hand that left him out and flat on his back.
"I was prepared physically and mentally to go 10 rounds and I didn't come in looking for a knockout, so for it to end in the first round was a present for me,'' said Dulorme, who's ranked in the top 10 by both the World Boxing Association (WBA) and World Boxing Council (WBC)
"I'll be back in the gym on Monday trying to learn more. That's what I do best. Every time I step in the gym it's all about learning.

Gonzalez, more workmanlike than spectacular, won a solid fight with continual two-way action by the scores of 98-92 and 97-93 twice. There were no knockdowns.
"I'm happy with the result and the way this fight went,'' said Gonzalez, who is ranked by three of the four boxing organizations and was making his first start in eight months. "I expected a hard fight and I trained for a tough guy who had fought a lot of good punchers who couldn't knock him out. We knew he was a worthy opponent.

"Lyell was tough but it was clear that I won. I felt I was in control and that I hurt him a couple times. I had a few rounds where I allowed a couple flurries, but they always hit the gloves and I was never hurt. I hope to get back into the ring again soon.''
Lyell, who comes to win, always gives his best and had his Youngstown buddy, former world champion Kelly Pavlik in his corner for introductions, had no complaints with the decision, or the scoring.
"He won, probably seven rounds to three, so I have nothing to gripe about,'' Lyell said. "My plan was to go in and back him up, but I couldn't do it. I couldn't believe how strong he was.''

ShoBox expert analyst Steve Farhood, who called the doubleheader alongside blow-by-blow announcer, Al Bernstein was impressed with both 22-year-old winners.
"Dulorme has it all as a prospect,'' Farhood said. "He has a pleasing personality, good looks, and when he scores a knockout his opponent is left flat on the canvas, and that separates him from the pack. He's as exciting a prospect as we've seen on ShoBox in quite a while.''
Speaking of Gonzalez, Farhood said, "the difference in this fight was clearly Gonzalez' obvious advantages in size and strength. The fact his fight went the distance is in no way a negative because of the quality of opponent he was in with.''
The Gary Shaw Productions doubleheader will re-air this week as follows:
Thursday, Feb. 23, at 10 p.m. ET/PT SHO EXTREME
Friday's fights will be available ON DEMAND beginning Monday, Feb. 20.
The executive producer of ShoBox is Gordon Hall with Richard Gaughan producing and Rick Phillips directing.

Interview: Vic Darchinyan John McCormick ~ BoxingTalk.com

Photo by Brett "The Threat" Newton
JM: Vic, you are challenging Shinsuke Yamanaka for the WBC bantamweight championship on on April 6th in Tokyo, Japan. What's your game plan heading into this fight?
Vic Darchinyan: "My game plan is to knock him out and win. What else would everyone like to hear me say? I'm going to go out and fight a good fight. Give my fans in Japan a great action fight and win the world title. I have many fans from Japan that respect how I fight. I good go out and box for points and win fights by running but I respect that my fans spend good money to see me fight and the reason why I am known around the world is because I come to knock my opponent out."
JM: What do you think of Yamanaka as a fighter?
Vic Darchinyan: "I have watched two of his fights and you can see that Yamanaka is a warrior. He doesn't take a backward step, he's always there trying to knock out his opposition. His last opponent was very tough and had a lot of wins behind him but Yamanaka wasn't intimidated he just kept coming and coming and got the KO. This is what boxing is all about. I love watching Japanese fighters fight; they like to bring everything to the ring. It's been my dream to fight in Japan all my career, I'm very grateful to the WBC, Mr. Honda, Gary Shaw and my manager Elias Nassar for making a dream come true."

Reynoso Pulls Out
of Dulorme Fight on SHOBOX with Hip Injury!
Charlie Perez, manager of Reynoso, informed Gary Shaw that Jose was taken to the emergency room where his hip was popped back into place after the doctor told him that he had a hip contusion. Reynoso left the hospital in crutches.
Gary Shaw went on to say, "It's unfortunate that Reynoso will have to pull out of this fight. I know it must have been a serious injury for him to do so. My team is diligently looking for an opponent to step in. Right now we have a few names that we're looking at. An announcement will be made shortly."

Thomas Dulorme Graduates

Dulorme, a native of Carolina went on to say, "I'm very happy to achieve one of my lifelong dreams to graduate and have a profession. As an individual, regardless of whether you're a boxer, you should seek to have options and I am happy to have this great achievement and to help secure my future."
"Boxing is my passion, it's the force that makes me get up every morning, but I know that one day it all ends and I will be ready when that day comes," he continued.
Dulorme, 22, also has four years invested in a Bachelors Degree at the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico (UPPR), concentrating in Civil Engineering. He is scheduled to resume his undergraduate studies in mid-2012.
"Drawing is my first love" stated Dulorme. "My dad is an engineer and I grew up in that environment working with geometry and dealing with the spaces available. I started with small drawings and models and really loved what I was doing. Gradually I improved through specialized classes and eventually jumped to formal education."
Dulorme, while training in boxing, maintained a grade point average of 3.5. He delayed his studies at the UPPR and enrolled at The Lyceum Art and Technology school in Hato Rey, because he had to improve some aspects of his technical drawing, before completing his undergraduate degree.
"I went to the Lyceum because I wanted to improve and finish my studies with all the knowledge needed to practice my profession effectively," said Dulorme. "Promotionally as a fighter, I'm represented by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertianment. I'm very happy with my career both inside and outside the ring."
On February 17, Thomas Dulorme returns to the ring against Mexico's Jose Reynoso (15-3-1, 2 KOs), in a 10 round bout for the vacant NABF welterweight title. He will be the main event on Showtime's boxing series ShoBox: The New Generation at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.
The co-feature showcases undefeated 154-pound puncher, his compatriot Jonathan "Mantequilla" Gonzalez (14-0, 13 KO's), who battles global contender Billy Lyell (24-10, 5KOs), in a 10 round fight. Lyell has fought world class fighters such as Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and James Kirkland.
Both Dulorme and Gonzalez were recently selected by ESPN as part of the prestigious "Super25" group, which features the top boxing prospects in the world.

Highly Regarded Thomas Delorme Puts Unbeaten Record on the Line Against Jose Reynoso in February 17th Main Event
on SHOBOX: The New Generation
The headlining fighters will make their ShoBox debuts in a 10-round welterweight bout with a contracted limit of 143 pounds.
In the co-feature at Chumash Casino Resort in Santa Ynez, Calif., the power-punching Puerto Rican, Jonathan "Mantequilla" Gonzalez (14-0, 13 KOs), of San Juan, will battle Billy Lyell (24-10-2, 5 KOs), of Warren, Ohio, in a 10-round junior middleweight match.
Despite having only 13 fights to his name, Dulorme (pronounced Do-Lore-May) is already ranked in the top 10 by both the World Boxing Association (No. 3) and World Boxing Council (No. 8) at welterweight. Some consider the charismatic youngster a superstar in the making.
A hard-hitting sort who also can box, the highly regarded Dulorme has been spectacular and explosive enough to warrant the lofty praise. But he'll get his toughest test to date against Reynoso, who's unbeaten in his last six starts (5-0-1).
"I'm always looking to fight the best guys available and I'm expecting a good fight,'' the crowd-pleasing Dulorme said. "I've been in with left-handers before. Fighting for the first time in 2012, I want to come out with a bang and show the audience on ShoBox that I'm the real deal.
"Capturing the NABF title will get me one step closer to my dream of becoming a world champion."
Since turning pro after a terrific amateur career that included winning a Golden Gloves championship, the 5-foot-9 ½-inch Dulorme, who turns 22 on Jan. 29, has campaigned in three weight classes: welterweight, junior welterweight (140 pounds) and lightweight (135 pounds).
Dulorme won a four-round majority decision in his pro debut on Aug. 13, 2008. His next 10 fights ended by knockout -- two in the first round, eight in the second. He's been victorious in his last two starts via lopsided decision, a 10-round triumph over former world champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley on June 10, 2011, and a nine-round win over world title challenger Charlie Navarro the following Oct. 22.
Although he knows he's an underdog, Reynoso is anxiously awaiting this fight, his first since taking an eight-round decision over Esteban Almarez on June 22, 2011.
"This is the most important fight of my career. I'm fighting for everything, and this fight means everything to me,'' the 5-foot-7, 27-year-old Reynoso said. "I've seen tapes. I know he's undefeated and a hard banger, but he hasn't fought solid opposition like I have. He's strong, but I'm strong too, and I plan to put him to the test. If I have to trade shots, I will. I have much more power than my record says.
"This isn't the first time I'll enter the ring an underdog, so I'm used to that kind of pressure. I'm coming to win and I'm going to surprise everybody.''
In the co-featured bout, Gonzalez, ranked by three of the four major boxing organizations, is fourteen fights into a career that began in January 2009. A former amateur standout and a 2008 Olympic representative for Puerto Rico, he's rated No. 7 in both the WBC and World Boxing Organization (WBO) and No. 12 in the WBA.
This will be Gonzalez' second consecutive start on ShoBox. In his debut and most recent outing last June 11, he recorded a unanimous 10-round decision over Richard Gutierrez. It was the first time the 5-foot-11, 22-year old Gonzalez had gone the distance since he went pro. None of his previous 12 outings had lasted more than seven rounds. Eleven of the KO wins came within three sessions.
Lyell is a durable, hard-luck 27-year-old who doesn't seem to get the benefit of the doubt in tough fights against favored fighters on the road.
In his last bout, the 5-foot-9 Lyell lost a majority 10-round decision to local favorite Dominik Britsch (25-0 going in) on Oct. 22 in Germany. On Jan. 29, 2011, he came up on the wrong end of a close 10-round decision to Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0-1 going in) in Mexico.
One fight that went Lyell's way: He scored a shocking split 10-round decision over previously undefeated John Duddy on April 24, 2009.

Gary Shaw Productions Rising Stars Make ESPN’s Super 25!
(January 24th) Gary Shaw Productions has a fantastic stable of undefeated fighters making their mark in the boxing world. Five made the cut on ESPN's Super 25 prospect list, created by Dan Rafael. Shaw co-promotes some of his fighters with other top promoters like Lou DiBella, Javier Bustillo and Leon Margules. Below are Dan Rafael's write up's on Shaw's rising stars.
Luis Orlando Del Valle (24, junior featherweight, Lou DiBella/Gary Shaw, 14-0, 11 KOs): Puerto Rico's Del Valle, who lives in New York, lost his first amateur fight at age 14 but wound up going 112-14 and earning a National Golden Gloves title before turning pro in 2008. He has excellent hand speed and is efficient with his punches. He has a high knockout percentage but is more of a sharp puncher than a crushing puncher. He scores his knockouts with an accumulation of well-placed shots. In his most notable fight, which aired on "ShoBox" in June, he hammered credible Dat Nguyen in a lopsided 10-round decision with an excellent performance that stole the show.

Thomas Dulorme (21, welterweight, Lou DiBella/Gary Shaw/Javier Bustillo, 13-0, 10 KOs): Puerto Rico's Dulorme is an ultra-exciting prospect with Felix Trinidad-like charisma. When Dulorme comes to the ring, he has a smile on his face and seems to thoroughly enjoy the combat. He is a very aggressive puncher with tremendous power. He turned pro in 2008 but initially didn't fight very often. In 2011, he picked up the pace, winning five fights -- including spectacular second-round knockouts of Guillermo Valdes and Harrison Cuello on major undercards. Dulorme followed those fights with quality decision wins against former junior welterweight titlist DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley on "Friday Night Fights" and former welterweight title challenger Charlie Navarro. The sky is the limit for this kid. He has the look of a future star who just needs more experience. Dulorme will open his 2012 schedule by headlining "ShoBox" on Feb. 17.
Thomas Dulorme will challenge Jose Reynoso for the NABF welterweight title.

Luis Franco (29, featherweight, Gary Shaw, 11-0, 7 KOs): The Miami-based Franco spent eight years on the powerhouse Cuban national team and was a 2004 Olympian. But he lost what would have been some prime professional years before defecting in mid-2009 and turning pro. After roughly 400 amateur fights (including wins against Yuriorkis Gamboa), Franco is adapting well to the pro game. He's a volume puncher with quickness and, because of his amateur experience and advanced age, is on the fast track. He has already defeated solid pros such as Wilton Hilario, Eric Hunter and Leonilo Miranda. There was serious talk of Franco facing 2011 ESPN.com prospect of the year Gary Russell Jr. on HBO on two different cards, but no deal ever came to fruition, as Franco was in position for a title eliminator in one of the alphabet organizations. He figures to get a significant fight in 2012.

Jonathan Gonzalez (22, junior middleweight, Leon Margules/Gary Shaw/Lou DiBella, 14-0, 13 KOs): Gonzalez was a 2007 Pan-American Games silver medalist and 2008 Puerto Rican Olympian who went 132-18 as an amateur. He's a strong volume puncher who loves to bull forward and look for knockouts. But he can also box and fights in a confident, relaxed manner. He picked up his most notable victory in June, when he broke down onetime contender Richard Gutierrez in impressive fashion to win a lopsided decision on Showtime's "ShoBox" in New York on the eve of the annual Puerto Rican Day parade.
Jonathon Gonzalez returns to the ring as the co-main event on "ShoBox" Feb. 17, against Billy Lyell.

Jose Pedraza (22, lightweight, Lou DiBella/Gary Shaw/Javier Bustillo, 5-0, 4 KOs): Pedraza, a 2008 Olympian and 2009 silver medalist at the amateur world championships, is perhaps the most heralded Puerto Rican prospect since Miguel Cotto came out of the 2000 Olympics. Nicknamed "The Sniper," Pedraza turned pro in February and has rolled through his first four (low-level) opponents. He has shown an educated jab and an excellent body attack, two elements that usually take time for a young fighter to develop. He has poise, is accurate with his punches and is very fluid. DiBella said Pedraza's fighting style reminds him of a young Oscar De La Hoya.
With only a few fights under his belt, Pedraza was able to capture the WBC Youth title and will defend it on February 28th in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

Gary Shaw Productions Signs Hot Prospect
Alejandro “Charro” Luna!

(January 24th) - Gary Shaw Productions is proud to announce the signing of undefeated power-punching lightweight sensation, Alejandro "Charro" Luna (8-0, 6 KOs) of Whittier, California. Shaw and Luna agreed to a multi-year contract, and both sides are extremely happy. Luna is scheduled to return to the ring on March 16, 2012 at the Morongo Casino in Cabazon, CA, on ESPN Friday Night Fights.
A joyful Gary Shaw went on to say, "Alejandro Luna is a great kid with heavy hands and the fans love his approach. Every time he steps in the ring you know something exciting is about to happen. He's got great skills and good team around him. I have big plans for him in 2012."
Luna, a twenty year old prospect known for his crowd pleasing style stated, "I'm very excited that I signed with Gary Shaw because I know he's one of the best promoters in boxing. He's guided many world champions to the top and I plan to be his next big name. My goal is to say busy this year and continue my success as a prize fighter."
Alejandro grew up as a "Charro" in a family of Mexican cowboys, who competed in "Charrería's" around his local area. Deep rooted in his family's life long tradition, Luna sated, "The definition of a "Charro" is a gentleman's cowboy. I learned how to ride a horse at a very young age and started competing in local "Charrería's", which are rodeo competitions. All my family members from my dad to my uncles are involved in the sport of rodeos, "Charreadas" in Spanish. I juggled both sports growing up, and as an amateur boxer I compiled a record of 90-12. I love to compete and right now my focus is strictly on becoming a world champion in boxing."

IBF Title Bout Daniel “The Real Deal” Geale vs Osumanu Adama

(January 23rd) - Grange Global Promotions in conjunction with Main Event Television and Gary Shaw Productions present a night of world class boxing Wednesday, March 7th 2012 at the Derwent Entertainment Centre, Hobart, Tasmania.
This will be last bout on home soil before heading abroad, International Boxing Federation world Middleweight champion Daniel "The Real Deal" Geale faces his toughest test to date when he defends his crown against the number one contender Osumanu Adama of the United States.
The champion wants another taste of hometown support after the roaring atmosphere generated by the D.E.C.s capacity crowd during his 1st defense was compared by legendary U.S. promoter, Gary Shaw, to that of a Las Vegas super fight.
This is Daniel's mandatory defense of the much coveted IBF 160lb title captured in Germany last May, Geale's record currently stands at 26-1 (15 KO) and victory imperative in order to set up a unification bout abroad in the middle of the year. Whilst his team negotiates with Sergio Martinez, Dmitry Pirog and Felix Sturm, Daniel never looks past the fight ahead and remains totally focused on his next challenger.
Number one contender for the Middleweight crown and the man looking to derail "The Real Deal's" plan is Osumanu Adama. The former Ghanaian Middleweight champion now lives and fights out of Joliet, Illinois and boasts a record of 20-2 (15 KO). His path to a shot at the title has seen him in his last 3 outings defeat tough Mexican, Angel Hernandez for the vacant I.B.O. world title in a shutout, defend successfully against Marcus Upshaw with a devastating 4th round knockout, followed by the systematic dismantling of Roman Karmazin over 9 rounds.
In typical African fashion, Adama is fit, confident and an aggressive come forward fighter guaranteed to apply extreme pressure from the opening bell, the big question is "does he have what it takes" to step up in class and on to the world stage, to face the champion Daniel Geale.
In the main support, Sydney's Billy "The Kid" Dib in mandatory defense of his 126lb IBF Featherweight world title will face the rugged and well schooled Mexican Eduardo "Canilla" Escobedo, in a fight that promises fireworks. Dib will look to continue on with his impressive form, after his last outing on November19th 2011 saw him stop the previously undefeated Italian challenger Alberto Servidei, in just 2 minutes and 38 seconds of the opening stanza.
Both fighters have the potential to render the judges unnecessary in this bout with Dib possessing a 33-1 (20 KO) record, Escobedo 32-3 (23 KO) and coming off a second round demolition of Joksan Hernandez for the IBF Latino regional title after visiting the canvas 5 times in 6 minutes, courtesy of the heavy handed native of Mexico City. A convincing win by "The Kid" at this level will firm his aspirations and desire to headline events in the U.S. of A.
Leading in to the main support bout, Australia's primo heavyweight Kali "Mean Hands" Meehan defends his IBF Pan-Pacific Heavyweight title over 12 rounds against a much improved Travis Walker of the U.S.A. Fox sports fans will remember Walker troubling Samoan/Australian big banger Alex Leapai back in 2010. Since taking the Leapai fight on short notice, Walker is 4 wins from 6 outings, winning the NABA USA Heavyweight title along the way with his 2 defeats being point's decision losses to former WBA World champion, Ruslan Chagaev and undefeated prospect Kubrat Pulaev in an I.B.F. International title bout.
Kali Meehan will look to solidify his IBF #8 and WBA #11 world ranking when he meets Walker on this occasion, with a combined force of 500lb, 350 rounds professional experience and knockout records of near 70% the only advice promoters can give is "Hang on to your seats and don't blink".
A quality undercard featuring Steve Lovett, Steve Heremaia, Aaron Lai and Corey McConnell commences at 6.00pm, get in early for your tickets to this must-see world title showdown, on sale as of 9.00 am Monday 23st January 2012 starting at $45 through Ticketmaster.com, by calling 136 100 or attending the D.E.C. in person. MAIN EVENT will also broadcast every minute of the entire card live and exclusive to FOXTEL, Austar and Optus terrestrial subscribers as well as to selected FOX SPORTS pubs and clubs.

(January 20, 2012) - A date has been set for the highly anticipated WBC world championship fight between, Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (37-4-1, 27 KOs) and Japan's undefeated WBC bantamweight champion, Shinsuke Yamanaka (15-0-2, 11 Kos). The showdown will take place on April 6, 2012 in Tokyo, Japan. On the line will be Yamanaka's WBC Bantamweight title.
Promoter Gary Shaw confirmed, "The date has been agreed upon for April 6. Darchinyan will have to travel into unfamiliar territory and show the world why he's one of the best fighters walking the earth. Capturing a world title in three divisions will put Vic in the history books as one of the greatest."
Darchinyan, determined to make history stated, "I'm going seize this opportunity the WBC has given me with everything I got. Nothing is going to stop me from bringing home that third world championship."
Darchinyan's manager and advisor Elias Nassar went on to say, "I want to thank Gary Shaw for putting this fight together. He works hard behind the scenes and needs to be commended for his efforts. Yamanaka is a young hungry fighter, but I believe Vic's experience and power will be the keys to him being victorious. I want to also thank the WBC and Team Yamanaka for giving Vic this opportunity. Contract Finalized for WBC Bantamweight Title Fight

(January 19th) - Seeking the best possible fights on the planed, former multiple world champion, Vic "Raging Bull" Darchinyan (37-4-1, 27 KOs) has finalized his negotiations to challenge Japan's undefeated WBC bantamweight titlist, Shinsuke Yamanaka (15-0-2, 11 KOs).
Promoter Gary Shaw stated, "Contracts have been signed, sealed and delivered. The fight is finalized and will take place in Tokyo, Japan sometime in April. Nothing makes me more proud than having a throwback fighter like Darchinyan, who will take risks and step in the ring with anyone, anywhere. Yamanaka will be defending his belt in his native land so Vic's got to go in there and put it on him. I believe Darchinyan's power punching style will lead him to victory."
Darchinyan, an elite fighter in the flyweight and super flyweight divisions went on to say, "I'm extremely pleased with the WBC's decision to give me another title shot. I've fought and defended the WBC title with honor and pride. I love everything the WBC stands for because I believe they know I'm a true warrior and will leave everything in the ring when I go to battle. My gratitude to José Sulaimán is everlasting because he's always been there for me throughout my career. Capturing a world championship in three divisions has been a goal of mine since I won my first belt. I know I have what it takes to be champion at bantamweight."
Having traveled the globe from Australia to America and now Japan, Darchinyan must be recognized as one of boxing's most respected fighters. A Hall of Fame career is fast approaching should he continue his march toward a treasured third world title in as many divisions.
Shaw went on to say, "There's no doubt about it, Vic is a future Hall of Famer. In his era, he fought the best that was out there. He's never been in a boring fight. His style has always been crowd pleasing and you'll never see any quit in him, ever. He'll get my vote for the Hall of Fame when that time comes. Vic's got plenty of fight left in him and come April, you'll know why he's one of the best prize fighters of his time."
In a quest to capture a world championship on foreign land, Darchinyan has a difficult task in front of him. Most fighters at the elite level would never take that gamble.
Shaw continued, "You have to give Darchinyan a ton of credit for taking this fight in Japan. Not many fighters will travel overseas to fight for a world title. He's given his heart and soul to this sport and I applaud the WBC for recognizing his soldier spirit."

Thomas Dulorme Shines in Panama!

(October 23rd) -Undefeated Puerto Rican boxer Thomas Dulorme improved his record to (13-0, 10 KO's) with a dominating, nine-round unanimous decision last night against world title contender Charlie Jose Navarro (20-5, 15 KO's), at Roberto Duran Arena in Panama. The judges scored the bout 89-81, 89-81 and 90-80, all in favor of Dulorme.
Dulorme was in control of the fight from start to finish. He showed his guts and courage against an opponent who did not yield to the attack. Dulorme won the fight by relying on his speed and combinations versus the Venezuelan.
"I feel really well and thrilled with the achievement," Duloreme said. "Navarro is a great fighter and I feel like I beat the world champion because I saw his fight with Senchenko (reigning WBA champion) and that was close. This experience will help me improve a lot and achieve my goals in boxing," said Dulorme, who is promoted by Universal Promotions, Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment.
Thomas set the pace from the opening bell, using his jab and keeping a distance, which proved to be of great help as he landed various flurries of combinations in the first two rounds. In the third, Dulorme's offensive began to flow as he attacked Navarro's body, displaying his superior boxing skills from a distance.
From the fourth round on, Dulorme completely dominated Navarro, who had serious problems working against the speed of the Puerto Rican. Thomas demonstrated knowledge beyond his actual experience in professional boxing. His jab and speed were factors in their comprehensive victory.
With his victory against Navarro, Dulorme kept his unbeaten record intact, successfully defending his NABA welterweight title.
On the other hand, hard-hitting Puerto Rican Kenny Galarza (15-2, 14 KO's) fell to Johan Perez, by fourth-round TKO (2:48), for the WBA Fedelatin Welterweight Championship. Perez came out determined to make Galarza feel his power.

Darley Perez New Power Player in Lightweight Division

(October 4th) - Undefeated Columbian power-puncher Darley Perez has firmly established himself as a serious contender in the lightweight division, destroying veteran Oscar Meza last Friday night on ShoBox: The Next Generation, at Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California.
Perez (23-0, 18 KOs), a 2008 Columbian Olympian, introduced himself to the American television audience with a bang, as he controlled the action from the opening bell, consistently beating a game Meza (22-4) to the punch, before finally pounding the tough Mexican him into submission for an impressive victory by technical knockout (TKO6 - 3:00). After Meza sustained a cut over his left eye, compounded by Perez' brutal assault in the sixth round, Meza's corner asked the referee to halt the action prior to the bell for the seventh.
Perez is co-promoted by Gary Shaw Productions and Thompson Boxing Promotions. "Darley was in complete command of the fight," promoter Gary Shaw said. "He certainly made a name for himself in the U.S. We believe he's ready for any of the top lightweights in the world, including world champions Brandon Rios and Miguel Vasquez. In addition to his obvious power, Darley showed very good boxing skills, and solid defense. Now, boxing fans know why we are so high on him and Darley is only 28 years old."
The 5' 7" Perez is presently rated No. 5 by the World Boxing Association and No. 12 by the International Boxing Federation.

DeValle Wins Again!

(September 4th) Last night at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, NABA Featherweight champion Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle (14-0, 11 KOs) continued his march up the world rankings by stopping Kenya's Anthony Napunyi at 1:12 of the third round.
Fighting on the Zaveck vs. Berto undercard, Del Valle's relentless precision attack, punctuated by a sharp right hand, dropped the African veteran. He rose but was rendered helpless by the follow-up barrage and was rescued by the referee.
"I'm very excited about the victory," said the 24-year-old dynamo, post-fight. "The work I have implemented in the gym with my team paid off."
Before the fight, Del Valle had expressed awareness of the African's considerable strength. "Napunyi was heavy and very strong and that was the main reason why we started working the body hard in the fight. In the third round, I used his force against him and connected with the right and knocked him out, "said Del Valle.
"We were accurate in the fight, attacking the body from every possible angle until Orlandito could catch him with a fastball on the jaw and finish the fight," said Raymond Rivera, trainer and manager of Del Valle.
The undefeated puncher from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, will meet with his management and promotional duo of Gary Shaw Productions and DiBella Entertainment in the coming days, to jointly decide the next move.
