and World Rated Thomas Dulorme!
(May 9th) - On Thursday, June 14, DiBella Entertainment's Broadway Boxing series returns to New York City's famed Roseland Ballroom for its third installment of 2012. Headlining the card will be world-rated welterweight contender Thomas Dulorme (14-0, 11KO's), who is widely considered as one of the most promising young boxers in all of boxing, as well as Long Island's fan-favorite undefeated light heavyweight prospect, "Irish" Seanie Monaghan (13-0, 8KO's).

Broadway Boxing kicked off the 2012 season with an action-packed, sold out card at Roseland on January 21. DBE followed that up with another completely sold out event on March 7 at B.B. King Blues Club and now returns for what promises to be another thrilling night of boxing with the undercard featuring some of the most exciting and popular fighters throughout the New York area.

Dulorme, 14-0, 11KOs, is of Dominican descent but he has spent the large majority of his life as a resident of Puerto Rico. The 22-year-old NABF Welterweight Champion is part of Team Puerto Rico, a group of fighters promoted by DiBella Entertainment, Gary Shaw Productions, Universal Promotions and Warriors Boxing. Already rated as the WBC #3 and WBA #4 welterweight in the world, Dulorme is coming a first-round annihilation of Aris Ambriz, 16-2-1, 8KOs, on February 17, which was the main event on ShoBox: The New Generation, shown live on SHOWTIME®. Boxing insiders have been raving about Dulorme's ability for some time now, and the blue-chip prospect continues to inch closer to his first world title opportunity in the very near future.

Every time that Long Beach, New York's Seanie Monaghan, 13-0, 8KOs, steps into the ring, his army of fans continues to grow. Monaghan, who last fought on the undercard of Sergio Martinez' middleweight title defense against Matthew Macklin at Madison Square Garden on St. Patrick's Day, has become a staple fighting on the undercard of almost every recent major card that has come to New York due to his action-packed, fan friendly style. Now, on June 14, Monaghan will have the opportunity to headline what could be the first of many more shows to come in the future for the dynamic light heavyweight prospect.

Additional bouts will be announced shortly.

Epic Night of Instant Classics on Broadway Boxing!

(March 8th) - Earlier tonight from BB King Blues Club and Grill in mid town Manhattan, DiBella Entertainment presented a thrilling nine bout card, that left the sold-out crowd in attendance begging for more.

Headlining the card was an intriguing welterweight match-up between Newark's up-and-coming prospect Alex Perez, who was stepping way up in class as he took on former NABF light welterweight champion, the Bronx's always entertaining, Francisco "El Gato" Figueroa in a 10-round welterweight showdown.

Fresh off his impressive showing on the last Broadway Boxing card in January, Perez was very impressive as he was able to pass a major test winning a well-deserved unanimous decision over Figueroa.

In the early going Perez seemed to be too big and too strong for the much shorter Figueroa. Midway through the fourth a big right hook sent Figueroa to the canvas. Figueroa was able to beat the count though and made it through the round.

As the fight wore on Perez continued to press the action while Figueroa had his moments countering effectively from the outside, which made for a highly entertaining scrap. The fight turned more and more into a war as each round progressed with the tenth and final round seeing both combatants stand toe-to-toe, guns glazing.

In the end the judges scored the bout 99-90, 98-91, 96-93 all in the favor of Perez. Perez who improved to a perfect 16-0, 9KO's stated after the fight that he broke his hand.

"I broke my hand in the fourth round," said Perez. I respect Gato, he is a tough fighter, but the only problem for me tonight was my hand. I know I would have knocked him out if I didn't suffer the injury."

While Perez was have to have his hand checked out by a specialist, he doesn't anticipate being out long, and is hoping to be back in the ring as soon as possible.

"Hopefully I don't have to take too much time off. My plan is God's plan and that is to go straight to the top."

PARSLEY EDGES MELSON IN A WAR!
In the fight of the night, fellow undefeated junior middleweight prospects Delen "The Sniper" Parsley and Boyd "Rainmaker" Melson engaged in an all-out war.

Melson set a furious pace in the first, rushing the much taller Parsley, looking to stay inside his long range.

In the second a short overhand left from the southpaw Melson hurt Parsley, and moments later the same shot dropped him. Melson jumped all over his opponent when the fight continued, but Parsley was able to survive the round.

In the third Parsley began boxing, turning the tide of the fight as he was able to land hard shots from long range.

It was more of the same in the fourth and fifth from Parsley as Melson seemed to be looking for his second wind. Parsley was able to box beautifully from the outside against the hard-charging Melson.

Sensing he was falling behind on the cards Melson came out furiously in the sixth with the pro Melson crowd chanting, "Boyd, Boyd." Early in the round Melson caught Parsley flush on the chin with another overhand left, sending him down for the second time in the fight.

The 7th was a tough round to score with both fighters having their moments and landing hard shots.

Entering the 8th it seemed to be anybody's fight and both fighters came out with a sense of urgency. With both fighters exchanging, Parsley landed a huge right hook that dropped Melson hard. Melson beat the count but was on very wobbly legs. Just when it looked as though Parsley was going to put Melson away, Melson rocked Parsley, sending him to the canvas. The referee called it a slip though, and as the fight presumed the war was back on with both fighters throwing caution to the wind and exchanging bombs for the remainder of the round.
After eight incredible rounds the fate of the fight was left in the judges' hands. With the crowd on edge, the scores were announced, 75-74, 76-73, 76-73, all for the winner by unanimous decision, Delen Parsley. With the win Parsley improved to 7-0, 2KO's while Melson suffered his first professional defeat, dropping to 8-1, 5KO's.

After the fight both fighters commented on their performance.

"Boyd showed me that he is a real fighter," said Parsley. "When he knocked me down in the second round, I was definitely hurt. He also showed me things that I learned about myself as a fighter. I regrouped and began to box him to get myself back into the fight. Boyd is like a brother to me and no matter what he will always be."

Melson, bitterly disappointed with the loss briefly said, "I was doing what coach told me. When that stopped working I changed it up. I feel like I won the fight."

ROSINSKY RETURNS IN IMPRESSIVE FASHION
Entering the ring for the first time since suffering his first professional defeat, super middleweight contender Will Rosinsky returned in impressive fashion, with a third round TKO over Zane Marks.

In a hellacious first round that saw both fighters absorb absolute bombs, Rosinsky sent Marks to the canvas twice from crunching left hooks to the body.

The war continued in the second with both fighters exchanging heavy blows with Rosinsky getting the better of the exchanges. Both of Marks' eyes began to show swelling while blood poured from Rosinsky's mouth.

In the third Rosinsky really poured it on, pinning Marks against the ropes and opening up with both hands. With Marks taking heavy punishment, the referee jumped in calling a halt to the contest at 1:26 of round number three. With the win Rosinsky improves to 15-1, 9KO's while Marks dropped to 17-7, 10KO's. After the fight Rosinsky commented on his victory.

"The body shots were part of the game plan from the start. We trained for that in the gym. He was a very tough customer and he forced me to fight at a very fast pace. I know a big fight is coming my way but I just want to get into the ring again as soon as possible. I would like the winner of Rodriguez-George next week on HBO."

UNDERCARD RESULTS: CLEAN SWEEP FOR DBE PROSPECTS
In a light heavyweight/cruiserweight match-up, Badou Jack "The Ripper" showed why many boxing insiders are raving about his ability as he used quick combination punching, and a vicious body assault to outwork a very game but outgunned Grover Young. Jack also showed that he can take a pretty good shot as he walked through a couple of heavy shots from his opponent who outweighed him by 10 lbs. at yesterdays weigh-in. It was a good action-packed fight throughout with Jack ultimately winning a unanimous decision by scores of 60-54, 59-55, 58-56. With the win Jack improved his record to 10-0, 8KO's while Young dropped to 6-6-1, 3KO's.

Undefeated junior featherweight prospect Luis Rosa improved to a perfect 10-0, 5KO's with a hard fought six round unanimous decision over Jonathan Alcantara. The New Haven native Rosa was in control from the onset, switching from orthodox to southpaw, continuously landing vicious left hooks to the body of Alcantara. The later sounds saw the two fighters fight at very close quarters, much to the sold out crowd's delight. In the end Rosa was awarded the decision by scores of 60-65, 59-55, 59-55.

Heavyweight Tor Hamer, made his much anticipated return to the ring with second-round annihilation of Dieuly Aristelde.

Hamer needed a round to shake off the rust before exploding in the second. Mid-way through the round a short right hand from Hamer dropped Aristelde hard. Aristelde was able to beat the count but rose on very wobbly legs. Sensing his opponent was hurt badly, Hamer jumped all over Aristelde, battering him around the ring and sending him to the canvas two more times, the second coming just as the bell sounded to end the round. Official time of the stoppage was 2:59 of round number two. With the victory Hamer improved his record to 14-1, 10KO's.

In a battle of local female junior lightweights, Keisher McLeod-Wells and undefeated Patricia Alcivar went to war for their entire six round contest with Wells winning a hard-fought split decision.

The rounds were extremely close and competitive with Wells and Alcivar trading knockdowns and bringing the crowd to a standing ovation at the end the sixth. The judges were split, with two giving it to Wells 57-55, and the third scoring it the same for Alcivar. With how close the fight was, a rematch is certainly in order, something that both fighters agreed to after the fight, much to the crowd's delight.

Broadway Boxing Opens 2012 with a Tough Act to Follow!

January 21st, Roseland Ballroom, New York, NY: DiBella Entertainment's Broadway boxing opened up its 2012 season showcasing a card full of unbeaten fighters, hot prospects and cagey veterans all who came to fight leaving the full house of boxing fans leaving as exhausted as the eighteen fighters themselves.

In the main event New York's popular unbeaten NABF light welterweight champion, Gabriel "Tito" Bracero took on former WBO Light Welterweight Champion DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley in what turned out to be a ten round war full of drama.

The opening round saw a chess match between the champion Bracero and his southpaw challenger "Chop Chop" Corley.

Round two quickly put an end to the feeling out process when Corley cut the champion over his right eye with a looping left. Corley a veteran of fifty six seven bouts including battles with the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. Miguel Cotto, Randall Bailey, Zab Judah Marcos Maidana then "chopped" the champion down with a ripping right hook just before the closing bell but showing the heart of a champion Bracero unsteady at best made it upright beating the count just in time to hear the round ring to a close.

Bracero opened round three looking to box and regroup only to find himself on the deck following another heavy Corley left.

Round four saw Bracero still on edge but boxing well staying out of range of the stalking Corley.

The reprieve would be short lived when in the fifth round Corley landing with another heavy left floored the hometown favorite for a third time.

In round six Bracero would again look to box staying behind his jab going on land his best punch of the fight to that point a heavy counter right leaving the patient cagey veteran Corley cutting off the ring looking for another big shot.

Round seven would be the first sign that the challenger may have been a bit too patient allowing the game Bracero to be rallied by the cheers of "Tito, Tito" and score with a quick combination punctuated by a 'chopping" right of his own sending Corley to the deck for a flash knockdown.

Round eight would see some good action with both fighters giving as good as they took but Bracero was much better defensively now. Fighting with the heart of a champion Bracero closed well only to find himself short on the score cards to the harder punching Corley but big in the eyes of the large contingent of fans that believed he could battle back the whole way through.

The judge’s cards announced 96-90, 94-92 twice all for Corley may have correctly defined the scoring but no way reflected the heart and determination of "Tito" that has built him his large following of New York knowledgeable fight fans.

Corley entering off six straight losses claimed the NABA light Welterweight title while improving to 38-19-1, 22Ko's while in his first pro loss Bracero slipping to 18-1, 3Ko's may have won something bigger, hearts of many new "Tito" fans.

Long Beach Long Island's unbeaten "Irish" light heavyweight Seanie Monaghan to the delight of his exuberant fans remained unbeaten but not without being tested by Bakersfield, California's ready willing and able Bill Bailey.

Monaghan would shine but not without his rough moments. The "Irishman" would start fast banging Bailey to the body and head flooring the durable and much bigger Californian with a blistering right in round two only to be saved by the bell.

The middle rounds saw a possessed looking Bailey eating Monaghan power shots attempting to will his way to victory convincing the unbeaten "Irishman" to box and be a bit more selective with his shots. Monaghan picking his shots continued to score piling up solid shots up and down.

Bailey did his share to force the action but most of it coming off solid Monaghan combo's allowing the young "Irishman" to bank his twelfth victory against no defeats.

Monaghan improving to 12-0, 8Ko's will return to action March 17th on the undercard of the upcoming middleweight championship fight between Matthew Macklin and Sergio Martinez St. Paddy's Day at Madison Square Garden while the durable Bailey returns to the west coast 11-14, 4Ko's.

The card was filled with action but there was no shortage of skill when unbeaten featherweight Luis "Orlandito" Del Valle turned the page in his young career taking on Mexico's veteran Jose Angel Beranza.

Like many future champions before him DeValle taking a big step up against the tough cagey Beranza a veteran of fifty seven fights including wars with Jhonny Gonzalez, Nestor Rocha and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. and most recently a split decision win over Chris Martin was up to the task.

DeValle boxed outside, banged away inside and fired away long distance with quick combinations but never going too far away from his patented body attack that would break down Beranza for a 80-72, 79-73, 78-74 unanimous decision.

The win not only turned the page for DeValle moving him to 15-0, 11Ko's but opened up a whole new chapter for the hot prospect and sure bet future champion. With the hard fought loss Beranza falls to 34-22-2, 26Ko's.

In a closely contested jr welterweight bout Jersey City, New Jerseys Danny McDermott battled back to even it out with a Colorado's Terry Buterbaugh. The energetic but light handed Buterbaugh pressed the action early out working the slow starting McDermott only to have the stronger, heavier punching McDermott bang his way back in the second half splitting two judges scorecards at 59-55 and the third scoring it 57-57 resulting in a majority draw. McDermott closes at 9-3-2, 4Ko's while Buterbaugh calls it even at 6-6-3, 3Ko's.

West Point graduate jr. middleweight Boyd "Rainmaker" Melson used a little ring generalship to make easy pickings of Nebraska brawler Sean Rawley Wilson changing angles, mixing leads and counters four posting Wilson to a 60-54 times three six round unanimous decision. Melson advances to 8-0, 4Ko's as Wilson evens out at a tough 6-6, 1Ko.

Newly signed Haifa, Israel cruiserweight Ran"Sweet Dreams" Nakash showed the discipline that made him a Chief Commander in the Israel Defense Forces rebounding from his only defeat a twelve round decision to WBO Champion Marco Huck last April with a methodical beat down of Philadelphia's Derek "One Man Riot" Bryant. Nakash controlled the action with the savvy of a full fledged ring general. Nakash mixed it up well, changing his angles winning the outside boxing despite a large size disadvantage then banging his away inside opening up a solid body attack scoring with ripping uppercuts earning a well deserved 80-72 times three eight round unanimous decision. Nakash poise, discipline and ring generalship makes him a viable contender at cruiser and a solid test for small heavies. Nakash bounces back to the win column at 26-1, 18Ko's while Bryant falls to 20-7-1, 17Ko's.

In entertaining heavyweight action Yonkers Thomas"The Hitman" Hardwick remained unbeaten shutting out Brentwood, Long Islands Richard Mason with a thorough 40-36 times three blue collar effort improving to 4-0, 2Ko's and earning a spot on the undercard of Martinez / Macklin March 17th at the Garden and leaving Mason in search of his first win at 0-4.

In her usual fan favorite style New York female heavyweight Sonya Lamonakis battled North Carolina's Carlette Ewell back and forth in two way hot and heavy six rounds of rock'em sock'em action leaving the judges split at 58-56 apiece and 57-57 for an action packed majority draw screaming rematch. The draw Lamonakis only blemish leaves her at 6-0-1, 1Ko while Ewell finishes15-7-1, 9Ko's.

The show started fast and furious when Newark, New Jersey welterweight Alex "The Brick City Bullet" Perez made easy work of Leavenworth, Kansas Josh Sosa. Perez used his superior hand speed to take control in round one hurting Sosa with heavy uppercuts to the body setting up a big right hook dropping him in round one.

Perez kept the "bullets" flying catching and dropping Sosa with another big hook this time convincing referee Murdha to call it at 1:39 of round two. Perez improves to 15-0, 9Ko's as Sosa slips to 10-2, 5Ko's.
