Women’s World Championship Bout
Added to Mosley vs Mora Undercard!
California’s Kaliesha West to Battle Angel Gladney for Bantamweight Crown September 18th at Staples Center
By: Monica Sears GBP
September 2nd LOS ANGELES - Widely considered to be one of female boxing's best pound for pound fighters, Moreno Valley, California's Kaliesha West will return home to fight in Southern California on Saturday, September 18 to face South Carolina's Angel Gladney for the vacant WBO Bantamweight World Title on the off-television portion of the "200: Celebrate and Dominate" Mosley vs. Mora undercard at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
This world championship bout adds to a card that includes a main event featuring Five-Time World Champion Sugar Shane Mosley facing off against former World Champion Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora, Mexican phenom Saul "Canelo" Alvarez facing former World Champion Carlos "Tata" Baldomir, top junior welterweight contender "Vicious" Victor Ortiz taking on former World Champion "Vicious" Vivian Harris and former World Champion Daniel Ponce De Leon taking on number two world rated featherweight Antonio Escalante in a WBO Featherweight Title Elimination bout.
An amateur superstar who won 98 bouts over the course of a career that saw her earn National Golden Gloves and Junior Olympics titles, Kaliesha "Wild Wild" West (12-1-2, 3 KO's) has been boxing since the age of ten and at just 22 years old, she is knocking on the door of a world title. Unbeaten for nearly two years, West is coming off a fifth round TKO of Vannessa Guimaraes in June and she's ready for the biggest fight of her career at STAPLES Center on September 18.
Though she doesn't own the same amount of amateur accolades as her opponent, South Carolina's Angel "Non-Stop" Gladney (6-2-1, 5 KO's) certainly has the same determination to win the Bantamweight World Title this September. A pro since 2009, Gladney has shown amazing power thus far, and with all five of her knockout wins coming in the first round, expect fireworks early when these two bantamweights collide.

Sugar Shane Mosley and Sergio Mora to Face Off on Mexico’s
Bicentenial Independence Day Weekend
“200: Celebrate and Dominate”

Saul “Canelo” Alvarez & “Viscious” Victor Ortiz
To Appear in Separate Undercard Bouts
The Mexican Independence Day Bicentennial celebration will be a big boxing weekend as Golden Boy Promotions presents 200: CELEBRATE AND DOMINATE featuring Five-Time and Three-Division World Champion Sugar Shane Mosley against former World Champion Sergio "The Latin Snake" Mora in a junior middleweight showdown. Also appearing on the card will be rising Mexican phenom Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and top junior welterweight contender "Vicious" Victor Ortiz in separate bouts that will make up a great night of fistic action on Saturday, September 18 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles.
A future Hall of Famer who is undefeated in two bouts at STAPLES Center against Oscar de la Hoya and Antonio Margarito, Sugar Shane Mosley (46-6, 39 KO's) returns to his Southern California backyard for the first fight since his dominating ninth round knockout performance against then Welterweight World Champion Margarito in January of 2009. Across the ring and looking to add a big win to his record against the legendary Mosley will be East LA's own Sergio Mora (22-1-1, 6 KO's), a former Junior Middleweight World Champion who last fought at STAPLES Center in 2005 when he scored a thrilling split decision victory over Peter Manfredo.
Unbeaten in 34 pro bouts, but still only 20-years-old, Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico's Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (33-0-1, 25 KO's) has broken into the elite level of the welterweight division in 2010 with knockout wins over Brian Camechis, Jose Miguel Cotto and Luciano Cuello. With a rock star-like following already established in Mexico, Alvarez looks to continue making his mark on the American fight scene with another impressive performance on September 18th.
23-year-old southpaw Victor Ortiz (27-2-1, 21 KO's), who followed up his December 2009 knockout win over Antonio Diaz with a February knockout of Hector Alatorre and a dominating May decision victory over former World Champion Nate Campbell, will look to use his September 18th bout as a showcase of his impressive boxing skills that have already garnered him high praise as one of boxing's future superstars.
Tickets for Mosley vs. Mora, priced at $200, $125, $75 and $20, are on sale now and available online at ticketmaster.com, via Ticketmaster charge-by-phone lines at (800)745-3000. Tickets are also available at STAPLES Center box office.

Mora, 29 years old is 22-1-1, 6Ko’s split with Forrest losing the latter a twelve round unanimous decision before stopping Calvin Green in seven his last time out.
