McCullough Calls It, Chambers Back on Track,
Ward and Hearns Remain Unbeaten!

Friday 20 June, Royal Watler Cruise Terminal, Georgetown, Cayman Islands: 37 year old Wayne "Pocket Rocket" McCullough 27-7, 18 Ko’s realizing his better days were behind him didn’t answer the bell for the seventh round of his scheduled ten round fight virtually awarding Juan Ruiz 22-5, 7 Ko’s the vacant NABF featherweight title. McCullough who was leading on two judges cards when the fight was called announced his retirement immediately after the bout. This was McCullough’s first fight since his back to back brutal losses to Oscar Larios in 2005.

"Fast" Eddie Chambers 31-1, 17 K0’s stopped Raphael Butler 31-5, 24 Ko’s at 2:23 of round six retaining his USBA Heavyweight Title and put himself back on the winning track since being out punched by Alexander Povetkin in a IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator in January.

2004 Olympic gold medalist Andre S.O.G.Ward remained undefeated 16-0, 11 Ko’s with an eighth round TKO over 1998 National Golden Gloves middleweight champion and 2000 Olympic representative for the Dominican Repoublic       Jerson Ravelo 18-3, 12 Ko’s. Ward attacked Ravelo from the opening bell with an uncharacteristic wild attack eating shots at times to land one. Ward finally caught Ravelo in the eighth round dropping him for a Steve Smoger eight count. When the action resumed Ward jumped all over Ravelo causing his corner to call it throwing in the towel at 2:37 round eight

Junior middleweight Ronald “The Chosen One” Hearns 19-0, 15 Ko’s and Jose Gonzales 12-3-1, 10 Ko’s traded heavy shots for seven rounds until “The Chosen One” broke threw hurting Gonzales referee Roberto Rameriz to call the fight at 2:01 of round seven.

Junior middleweight Charles “Killa” Whitaker 31-12-2, 19 Ko’s stopped Troy “TNT” Lowry 27-9, 16 Ko’s at the end of round four of their scheduled ten rounder in a bout.

Junior welterweight Ty Barnett 14-0-1, 10 Ko’s remained undefeated stopping Pavel Miranda 15-2, 8 Ko’s at :25 of round four in their scheduled eight rounder.
