Joshua Clottey and John Duddy Finish NY Training
Ready for March 13th Fights in Texas!!

(March 4th) Ghanaian welterweight Joshua “Grand Master” Clottey, 35-3, 20Ko’s closed out his New York workouts for his March 13th meeting with WBO Welterweight Champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao, 50-3-2, 38Ko’s at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas at Kingsway Gym in Manhattan New York just blocks away from the Empire State building.

Clottey, who always looks firm and fit as if he is in the middle of a training camp came in to hit his final weight point and start the tailing down period of his training camp leading up to fight night. The former IBF welterweight title holder moved calmly through his workout including some bag and mitt work and doing some road work on one of the gyms treadmills under the close watch of his trainer Godwin Kotey.

Clottey the bigger fighter who looks to wear down Pacquiao feels he was robbed against Miguel Cotto last June and would be on a solid six fight winning streak since dropping a tough twelve round decision to Antonio Margarito December 2006 in a fight he suffered an injury to his left hand in the fourth round.

Also finishing up his training was New York’s favorite son “Irelands” John Duddy, 28-1, 18Ko’s who will take on Mexico’s rough and ready Michael Medina, 23-1-2, 18Ko’s in a Top Rank co-feature.

Medina rebounding from his September 2008 ten round unanimous decision loss to Vanes “Nightmare” Martirosyan winning four of his last five outings inside the distance with his last outing a first round stoppage of Roberto Valenzuela, February 6th.

Duddy back his long time trainer Harry Keitt is looking to rebound himself. After running off 25 straight wins Duddy hit a hit a pot hole in the name of Youngstown, Ohio’s Billy Lyell losing a ten round split decision last April. Since then Duddy has put together back to back wins, his latest a first round stoppage of Juan Astorga January 23rd.

Also featured on Saturdays night card is the lightweight fight matching Humberto “La Zorrita” Soto, 50-7-2, 32Ko’s against David Diaz, 35-2-1, 17Ko’s scheduled for 12 and a welterweight battle matching Alfonso Gomez, 21-4-2, 10Ko’s against     “El Terrible” Jose Luis Castillo, 60-9-1, 52Ko’s in a scheduled ten rounder.
