As USA Boxing Team Heads to Beijing, Golden Boy Joins Team!

July 8th: Oscar De La Hoya's fresh off his autobiography “American Son” book tour announced today that Golden Boy Promotions has signed an agreement with USA Boxing to help improve the present level of the training and promotion of USA amateur boxers.

De La Hoya won a gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Games and parlayed it into a successful and fruitful professional career. DeLaHoya a eight time world champion joined forces with former executive at Swiss Bank, Richard Schaefer to form Golden Boy Promotions, boxings premiere promotional company.

DeLaHoya and Golden Boy Promotions has “Sugar” Shane Mosley, Bernard Hopkins and Marco Antonio Barrera as partners. Golden Boy Promotions is boxing’s most dynamic promoter. It has a large number of active boxing venues around the country and broadcasts its shows on numerous networks such as HBO, Showtime, TeleFutura, Versus and ESPN. Golden Boy also now owns several boxing periodicals such as Ring Magazine and has promised it will use all its managerial and media connections to advance and promote USA amateur boxing.
