CHRIS ALGIERI HEADLINES NYC SHOW
SEPTEMBER 16TH AT THE CAPITALE

(Algieri on left)

On Thursday September 16th, Star Boxing and The Empire Sports and Entertainment will present an exciting and entertaining night of professional boxing at the New York City's famous and luxurious Capitale located in downtown Manhattan. Headlining the card will be the newest addition to Star Boxing's growing stable, Huntington's undefeated, Chris Algieri (10-0, 5KO's), as he takes on upset-minded Martin Tucker (7-6, 3KO's) in an eight round jr. welterweight contest.

"We are excited to be bringing a night of thrilling boxing entertainment to the Capitale with The Empire," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO and President of Star Boxing. "It is always great to do shows in NYC and The Capitale is a premier banquet hall that provides for classic boxing. We expect a sellout, so get your tickets early!"

"I am thrilled to be working with my good friend Joe DeGuardia on Capitale Punishment II," stated Greg Cohen, President and Founder of The Empire Sports and Entertainment. "We are going to put on a terrific show and expect to pack the house once again. The New York fans definitely won't want to miss this event."

CHRIS ALGIERI
Regarding the card, DeGuardia said, "We are excited to be featuring our newest signee Chris Algieri on the card. Being from Long Island, Chris has begun to develop a large following throughout New York, and we expect an exciting performance out of him come September 16th. We are also going to be loading the undercard with some of the tri-state area's hottest up and coming talent, making it a night of boxing you certainly will not want to miss."

Algieri is coming off a six round unanimous decision over James Hope in his last outing earlier this year. Algieri turned pro boxer in 2008, after an extensive and successful career as a kick boxer. After winning the USKBA Northeast Championship as an amateur, Algieri turned pro at just 19-years-old, and went on to win the WKA Super Welterweight World Championship just two years later. Algieri ended his kick boxing career as the undefeated, undisputed kick boxing world champion, in not one, but two weight divisions. Now with the backing of Star Boxing, the 'model handsome' Algieri is looking to start making some noise in the loaded jr. welterweight division.

The 30-year-old Tucker, who hails from Ohio, is a tough brawler who has only been stopped once in his career. Tucker is two fights removed from his career best victory, an upset unanimous decision victory over previously unbeaten Michael Torres (13-0, 7KO's). Tucker also holds a win over once beaten Rashad Holloway who battled to draw in his last bout with former NABF and New York State light welterweight champion, Francisco Figuerora. A complete undercard will be announced shortly.

Tickets are currently on sale and are being priced at $200, **$150**, and $50. Tickets may be purchased by calling Star Boxing at (718) 823-2000. **For information on discounted $150 seats for advanced purchase call now!** For more information visit www.starboxing.com or www.theempirese.com.

ESPN'S "FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS" RESULTS

CONSENSUS: RODRIGUEZ ROBBED!

Earlier tonight, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Warriors Boxing presented an action-packed seven bout card before a jam packed house at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, OK. The show, broadcast live on ESPN's "Friday Night Fights" was headlined by IBF #3 rated welterweight contender, Delvin Rodriguez taking on England's Ashley Theophane, in a ten round welterweight contest.

Both fighters came out and immediately began firing shots, setting the pace right from the get go. The taller Rodriguez was the more accurate of the two, with Theophane looking to land looping shots over Rodriguez's stiff jab.

Each round saw good two-way action from both fighters, but as the fight progressed, Rodriguez continuously scored the more telling shots, mixing in some vicious body shots behind his lethal straight right hand.

There was great action in the 7th, with both fighters going toe-to-toe to close the round.

Early in the 9th a huge overhand right by Rodriguez hurt Theophane badly. Rodriguez went right at Theophane, looking to close to the show, but Theophane was able to stay out of trouble by tying Rodriguez up and jumping on his bicycle for the remainder of the round.

The 10th and final round saw non-stop action from both warriors. Rodriguez's punches were harder and more accurate, but Theophane was able to land some wide hooks and looping shots of his own.

The crowd stayed on their feet applauding both fighters, while the judges tallied the scorecards. The first score announced was dead even at 95-95, much to the crowd's dislike, as seemingly everyone in attendance had Rodriguez as the clear-cut winner, including ESPN commentator Teddy Atlas who scored the fight eight rounds to two for Rodriguez. When the other two scorecards were announced as 96-94 both for Theophane, the crowd went into an uproar of boos. To his credit, Theophane hung tough, and made an exciting fight out of it, but Rodriguez was just much more accurate and landed the much harder punches throughout the entire fight. It was yet another disappointing controversial decision loss for Rodriguez who drops to 25-5-2, 14KO's. With the win Theophane improves to 27-4-1, 7KO's.

SIERRA WINS TECHNICAL DECISION IN BLOODBATH OVER GEORGE
In the televised opener Francisco Sierra improved to 22-3, 20KO's winning a 7th round technical decision over previously unbeaten Donovan George (20-1-1, 17KO's).

The fight on paper promised to be an all-out war, and both Sierra and George didn't waste anytime in fulfilling that promise.

Both fighters came out in the first and immediately began exchanging bombs. Near the end of the first, Sierra wobbled George with a big hook, but George was able to survive the round.

The 2nd saw more of the same as both Sierra and George looked to end the fight with every punch they threw. Another big hook rocked George midway through the round.

George began boxing and using his jab and had success in the third and the fourth as it looked as though Sierra might be tiring a bit. By this time though George's face was a bloody mess from his broken nose and it seemed to be bothering George a bit as he continuously wiped the blood away.

Any momentum George gained was lost in the 5th as Sierra began landing huge shots with both hands.

In the 7th Sierra landed a vicious combo that hurt George, and then a big right hand sent George down. With blood pouring down his face George showed his heart and beat the count, but he looked to be in bad shape. Just as the bell sounded to end the 7th a huge right hand sent George down hard. George made it to his stool but was hurt badly. The punch clearly came after the bell had sounded and Sierra was deducted two points for the illegal blow. Between rounds it was determined George was unable to continue, and the fight went to the judges scorecards, where Sierra was awarded the unanimous decision victory. It was a very good win for the Mexican born Sierra, and hats off for the warrior effort by George.

UNDERCARD:
Andy Lee KO5 James Cook
Jonathan Gonzalez TKO6 Abel Perry
Rances Barthelemy TKO1 Cody Harless
Yordenis Ugas TKO1 DeJuan Jackson

ATLANTIC CITY RESULTS

On Saturday night, before a packed house at the Tropicana showroom in the Tropicana Casino and Resort, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented an action packed eight bout card. The event, shown live on PPV, featured knockouts, upsets, and just all around great fights.

The show was headlined by David Tua defending his WBO Asian Pacific and WBO Oriental titles against long-time top rated contender Monte "Two Gunz" Barrett. Prior to the fight, Joe DeGuardia, CEO and President of Star Boxing, stated what an exciting fight it would be, and he was right on point.

Barrett, who announced prior to the fight that win lose or draw this would be his last bout, was a huge underdog coming in against the heavy-handed Tua and in the beginning it looked as though Tua's power would simply be too much for him to handle.

Tua came out strong, landing heavy shots, and putting his notorious left hook on display in the early rounds. To Barrett's credit he took the shots well, as he looked to circle and box from the outside.

As the rounds progressed Barrett began landing more combinations from the outside, while Tua worked his way inside looking to score with his huge hooks and over hand rights.

As the championships rounds began, the crowd seemed to sense that something special was in store.

Down on the scorecards, Barrett began sitting down on his punches in the 10th, landing some heavy right hands on the face of Tua. A huge overhand right from Barrett wobbled Tua near the end of the round.

The 11th saw Tua come back strong, as Barrett seemed to be saving himself for the final round.

In the 12th Tua came out looking for the knockout and looked to be on his way. Midway through the round Tua threw Barrett to the canvas. The foul was blatant and the referee took a point away from Tua. When the action resumed Barrett unleashed a vicious barrage of punches with his back against the ropes, that dropped Tua for the first time in his entire career. Tua beat the count, and for the final 30 seconds of the round the two went to war, bringing the crowd into a standing frenzy.

(TUA (L) WITH JOE DEGUARDIA AND MONTE BARRETT)
Before the scores were announced both fighters embraced at the center of the ring, as the crowd cheered them on loudly, showing their appreciation for the great fight.

One judge saw Tua ahead by a score of 115-111, but he was overturned by the two other judges who saw the fight dead even at 113-113. The 10-7 round for Barrett in the 12th, enabled him to pull out the draw.

                                            (SERRANO WITH PROMOTER JOE DEGUARDIA)

In the co-feature bout of the evening, Star Boxing's up and coming welterweight, Raymond "Tito" Serrano improved his record to a perfect 13-0 by winning an eight round decision over tough as nails Ayi Bruce.

In a very entertaining bout, Serrano used his superior boxing ability and piston like jab to outwork the hard charging Ghana native Bruce for the majority of the fight. Bruce began to tire in the later rounds and looked for one big shot to swing the fight in his favor, but it never came. Serrano was the much busier and more accurate of the two, and earned the well-deserved decision.

With the win Serrano improved to 13-0, 6KO's while Bruce dropped to 6-3, 4KO's.

UNDERCARD
In the opening TV bout of the night, two-time French Olympian, Khedafi Djelkhir scored a wild and devastating first round knockout over Jorge Cordero.

Djelkhir came out in the first and almost immediately sent Cordero to the canvas. When the fight resumed Djelkhir went right in for the kill, leaving himself wide open for a counter left hook that dropped him hard. He was able to beat the count but was on very shaky legs and it looked as though Cordero might score the upset. As the round was nearing the close, Djelkhir unleashed a huge right hand that sent Cordero down and out. Official time of the stoppage was 2:27 of the first round.

With the win, Djelkhir improves to 7-0, 6KO's, while Cordero drops to 4-3, 2KO's.

In a major upset Carlos Vinan stopped European lightweight champion Anthony Mezaache in the 8th and final round of their action-packed lightweight showdown.

There was good two-way action for the entire fight, as Mezaache boxed from the outside as the rugged Cordero looked to bring the fight into a brawl.

In the 8th Cordero shot out of his corner like a cannon and jumped all over Mezaache, sending him to the canvas with a barrage of punches. Mezaache was able to beat the count but was in bad shape. After a follow up barrage that had Mezaache in trouble again, his corner threw in the towel, saving their fighter from further punishment.

With the upset win, Vinan improves to 10-8-4, 2KO's while Mezaache drops to 18-6-3, 4KO's.

OTHER RESULTS:
Bayan Jargal D8 James Hope
Mike Perez TKO1 Jorge Ruiz
Jason Escalera TKO3 Amador Acevedo
Sean Monaghan KO1 Dennis Penelton

MADDALONE'S BOXING CAREER
EXTENDING OUTSIDE THE RING

Star Boxing's Heavyweight fan-favorite, Vinny Maddalone (33-6, 24KO's), known for his warrior-like performances inside the ring, has began parlaying his popularity into a career outside the ring. Though still active; Maddalone scored a 5th round TKO over Dominique Alexander in his last bout back in March at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ; it was announced this week that he has been elected to serve on the Board of Directors to Ring 8, the Veteran Boxers Association of New York, Inc.

In addition, while he won't be on the card at Star Boxing's upcoming show at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, Maddalone will play a major part in night's events, serving as the host for what is shaping up to be an exciting night, featuring pre and post parties, at the ever popular Atlantic City Casino. Lastly, Maddalone recently opened a Restaurant and Bar (Ringside Bar and Grill) in his hometown of Queens, NY.

                                               (MADDALONE W/ PROMOTER JOE DEGUARDIA)

"We are very proud of Vinny's accomplishments both inside, and now outside of the ring," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing and long-time promoter of Maddalone. "Wherever he goes, Vinny is just so well-respected, and being elected to serve on the board is a true testament to that."

Following Maddalone's recent win in Atlantic City, long-time promoter Joe DeGuardia came up with the idea to have Maddalone host the next event.

"Vinny's such a draw and has so many fans out there, I knew that if I wasn't going to have him on the card, I still wanted him to be part of the event," explained DeGuardia. "We are working on something big for Vinny in the early fall, so we wanted to hold off on putting him on this show, but he will be there, greeting fans, and hosting both our pre and post fight parties, for what is expected to be a huge turn out."

"It's a real honor to be elected to the Board," stated Maddalone. "I have been involved with Ring 8 for sometime now, but to officially be named one of their own, and to have a voice in the organization, really is something special to me. "

Regarding his restaurant, Maddalone is optimistic about the future. "The restaurant is coming along well, I just brought in a new chef, and his food is unbelievable. I don't want to just be the guy behind the scenes, I enjoy being there at night and greeting the customers and sitting down and talking with them one on one. It keeps me busy when I'm not in training, and it is something I can focus on when my boxing career one day comes to an end."

PUNCHIN AT THE PARADISE RESULTS

Tonight at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, Golden Boy Promotions and Star Boxing presented action packed six bout card, featuring some of the hottest prospects in boxing. The card, which was the tenth installment of the popular "Punchin at the Paradise" fight series, was headlined by highly regarded lightweight prospect, Adrien "The Problem" Broner taking on Rafael Lora.

                                            BRONER (R) VS. LORA (L)
Broner wasted no time in showing why he is one of the hottest up and coming prospects in all of boxing, as he began firing crisp combinations at Lora. Broner showed he has good power in both hands as he scored with vicious shots throughout the first round. Just as the first round was coming to a close, Broner landed a beautiful right, left combination that sent Lora down hard. The bell sounded to end the round but Lora rose on very shaky legs. The referee took a hard look at Lora, but it was obvious he was in no condition to continue and waved the contest off. It was a very impressive showing for Broner, who improved his stellar record to 15-0, 12KO's. With the loss Lora dropped to 11-3, 5KO's.

                                              PEREZ (L) VS. REYES (R)
In the co-feature bout of the evening, Jersey City's Mike Perez improved his record to a perfect 8-0, 3KO's, winning a unanimous decision over previously unbeaten, and extremely durable Francisco Reyes (5-1, 2KO's).

Perez, who was backed by a strong contingent of fans, went to work right in the first, bloodying the mouth and nose of Reyes.

In the 2nd, a big right hand dropped Reyes. Perez continued his onslaught in the third, cutting Reyes over his left eye.

The remainder of the fight saw more of the same, and to his credit Reyes hung tough, but ultimately Perez was just too sharp. In the end Perez was awarded the unanimous decision, winning by scores of 60-52, and 59-53 twice.

Undercard Action:
In the opening bout of the night, undefeated super bantamweight prospects, Raul Lopez and Daniel Aquino stood toe-to-toe in an all out war, that had the crowd in attendance cheering wildly for the entire four round contest.

Both guys gave as good as they got, landing bombs throughout the contest. Just when it seemed as though the other might be gaining some momentum, they each would land huge shots that turned the tide of the fight right around. It was one of those fights that you didn't want to see either guy lose, but when the scores were announced (38-38, 39-37, 39- 37), Aquino was announced as the winner. With the win Aquino improved to a perfect 4-0, while Lopez dropped to 3-1-1, 3KO's.

Popular Albanian super middleweight, Shriprim Muriqi, improved his record to 4-0, 2KO's with a dominating four round decision over Rondu Campbell (2-5). Muriqi used his superior hand speed and ring generalship to pitch a shut out on all three judges scorecards.

"The Real Million Dollar Baby" Maureen Shea put herself back into world title contention, stopping Norma Faris at the end of the third round.

Fighting in front of her hometown fans, Shea used a vicious body assault to break down the defensive minded Faris.

Just as the third round was ending, Shea pinned Faris against the ropes and opened up on her, forcing the referee to jump in and call a halt to the contest just as the bell was sounding. With the win Shea improves to 14- 2, 8KO's, while Faris drops to 3-3.

In the final bout of the evening, Amir "The Prince of Egypt" Samir improved his record to 9-0, 2KO's with a unanimous decision over "Big" John Douglas (7-14-3, 3KO's), winning by scores of 60-54, 59-55, 59-55.

STAR BOXING CONGRATULATES DELVIN RODRIGUEZ ON RECEIVING DOMINICAN REPUBLIC BOXER OF YEAR AWARD

Last week at the Grand Hotel and Casino in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, Star Boxing's USBA welterweight champion, and IBF #3 rated, Delvin Rodriguez (25-4-2, 14KO's) was honored as the Dominican Republic's boxer of the year at the annual Athlete of the Year awards ceremony. The awards ceremony included the top government officials from the Dominican Republic, as well as famous Dominican merengue singer Fernando Villalona.

"It was a beautiful experience, and a dream come true to receive such an award in front of my entire country," stated Rodriguez, who celebrated his 30th birthday on May 4th. "Being awarded the Best Boxer of the Year, was such an honor to me, and something I will cherish for a life-time. My goal now is to win the world championship and bring the belt back to the Dominican Republic."

"We are very proud that Delvin was elected to receive the Dominican Republic's Best Boxer of the Year award," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing. "Delvin is a class act and gentleman both in and out of the ring, and we are happy that his efforts have been recognized by his country."

Rodriguez last fought on April 2nd, defending his USBA championship by winning a unanimous decision over former world-title challenger Mike Arnaoutis at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT.

RESULTS FROM MOHEGAN SUN

Earlier tonight Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented an exciting and entertaining six bout card before a packed house of fans at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT. The card, presented by ESPN's "Friday Night Fights", featured hometown favorite, Delvin Rodriguez, defending his USBA welterweight championship against "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis.

                                                        RODRIGUEZ (L) AND ARNAOUTIS (R)
The bout started slow with each fighter looking to feel each other out in the early rounds. As the rounds progressed the action picked up as Rodriguez began working behind a piston-like jab to set up his right hand and left hook.

Rodriguez was the busier of the fighters as he continuously stalked Arnaoutis around the ring, while Arnaoutis looked for opportunities to counter. Arnaoutis continued to fight hard down the stretch but Rodriguez continously beat him to the punch, simultaneously breaking Arnaoutis down.

In the 11th round a vicious right hand from Rodriguez opened a nasty cut over Arnaoutis' eye. Seeing the blood seemed to spur both fighters as they began trading in the center of the ring. Rodriguez finished the fight strong, landing hard combinations in the 12th and final round. In the end scores were 119-108, 118- 109, 117-110, all for Rodriguez who improved his record to (25-4-2, 14KO). Arnaoutis, fought hard in the losing effort, dropping his record to 22-5-2, 10KO.

                                                                 ANDRADE (L) AND SPRUIELL(R)
In the co-feature bout of the evening, Demetrius Andrade improved his record to a perfect 10-0, 7KO with a dominating six round shutout decision over extremely game Geoffrey Spruiell (8-9, 2KO).

The 2007 Amateur World Champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian Andrade came out in the first and immediately began showing why many boxing insiders believe him to be the top prospect in all of boxing, as he displayed lightening quick combinations that scored to both the body and head of his opponent.

In addition to Andrade's vicious attacks on offense he also showed beautiful defense as he would move in and land three and four punch combinations, and then move out of range leaving Spruiell hitting nothing but air.

To Spruiell's credit he hung tough, but Andrade was simply too much. Andrade thoroughly dominated that entire fight, switching from both southpaw to orthodox, and seemingly landing at will.

Look for Andrade, who is co-promoted by Star Boxing and Banner Promotions to be back in action very soon.

OFF T.V. RESULTS
In a battle of 2004 Olympians, Roberto Benitez and Yan Barthelemy went to war in their scheduled six round super bantamweight contest.

Benitez looked as though he was going to end the show quickly as he had Barthelemy badly hurt in the second round. Barthelemy fought back hard though and the two exchanged vicious combinations to close the round.

The two began right where they left off in the third trading bombs in the center of the ring, with one of the shots opening a bad cut over Benitez's eye. In the fourth the two once again came out and began firing hard accurate shots. Midway through the round, with blood streaming down Benitez's face the ringside doctor had seen enough and called a halt to the contest at 1:16 of the round. The Benitez camp was very upset, as Benitez was giving just as good as he got before the fight was stopped. Hopefully Barthelemy will give Benitez a rematch as this was definitely a fight any true fight fan would want to see again.

RILEY STARCHES FOSTER
Star Boxing's Yathomas Riley improved his record to 8-0, 6KO with yet another devastating 2nd round KO over fellow banger Walter Foster Jr. (4-2-1, 4KO).

The hard punching Riley dropped Foster with a right hook to the body midway through the first, and another right to the body in the 2nd. With Foster visibly hurt Riley went in the for the kill. A huge right hook ended the contest in devastating fashion at 1:20 of the 2nd round. Foster stayed down for several minutes following the knockout.

Joe Greene W8 Chris Gray
Shqiprim Muriqi TKO3 Fasika Bezabeh

ONE ON ONE WITH JOE DEGUARDIA

This Friday night at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presents an exciting seven bout card, featuring a must-see main event as well as some of boxing's most promising up and coming talent fighting on the undercard. The card is headlined by Delvin Rodriguez (24-4-2, 14KO) defending his USBA welterweight championship against former jr. welterweight title challenger, "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis (22-4- 2, 10KO). ESPN's "Friday Night Fights" is broadcasting the card and will begin live coverage of the event at 9PM.

Recently Star Boxing CEO and founder, Joe DeGuardia, took time to sit down and talk about the upcoming card, his plans for his young Stars in 2010, and also about the newly formed Boxing Promoters Association, for which DeGuardia was elected President of.

Q: Joe, first and foremost, I want to thank you for sitting down with us. Tell us about the main event on Friday.

JD: The fight between Delvin and Mike truly is a crossroads battle. Both guys are looking to get themselves back into world title contention, and a win in this fight does just that. Both of them are very confident, and both have promised they are going to put on spectacular performances.

Q: Both Delvin and Mike are Star Boxing fighters. Many wouldn't put two of their top fighters in against each other, can you tell us about that why you will let these two boxers fight each other on April 2 at Mohegan.

JD: The reason is simple, giving the boxers opportunities and giving the fans compelling fights. I believe that in order to develop boxers, we need to give them opportunities and we won't hold back our fighters from the best possibilities available to them. This is a great opportunity for both Delvin and Mike and we are providing them with that opportunity. Also, it is a great fight, and we always want to put on the best and most entertaining fights possible, and you will see just that this Friday. This is how to keep the fans coming back to our sport.

                         JOE DEGUARDIA W/ DEMETRIUS ANDRADE
Q: As if the main event wasn't good enough, you have absolutely loaded the undercard. We hear the 2007 Amateur World Champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius Andrade (9-0, 7KO) is in the co-feature.

JD: Yes. This will be Demetrius 5th time, in just eight fights as a pro on ESPN and he has been sensational each time out. We really have high hopes for Demetrius.

Q: Ever since Demetrius turned pro he has been garnering rave reviews among boxing insiders. What are your expectations for him?

JD: Well as I said at the press conference we held when we first signed Demetrius with his co-promoter Artie Pelullo, I don't think Demetrius is going to be just a champion, I believe he is going to be the next superstar of boxing. He has all the talent and ability in the world to be a star inside the ring, and he has the personality and charisma to be the same outside the ring as well. Ever since the first time I saw him fight I knew he was something special.

Q: We understand there will be an additional 'bonus' feature fight.

JD: Correct. We will open the ESPN telecast with two more Olympians, Roberto Benitez (6-0, 3KO) (U.S.) taking on gold medalist Yan Barthelemy (9-2, 2KO) (Cuba). This is going to be a step up and a true test for Roberto. This is a great example of the fights we put on at Star Boxing-two top prospects, both Olympians from the same Olympics (2004), fighting against each other. The winner of this fight can truly be looked at as a top prospect in that weight class.

Q: Can you tell us about the rest of the card?

JD: I am just so excited about this undercard. We added our light heavyweight phenom Yathomas Riley (7-0, 5KO). Yathomas is one of the purest punchers out of any prospect, he has tremendous power in both of his hands, and he isn't afraid to fight anyone. If it were up to him he'd be fighting guys like Chad Dawson right now. He is a throwback fighter and you have to love that about a guy. We also have former top jr. middleweight contender "Mean" Joe Greene (21-0, 14KO) on the show and Elvir Muriqi's cousin Shqiprim Muriqi (2-0, 1KO), who just like his cousin packs the house with his loyal contingent of Albanian fans. Between the Dominican's coming out for Delvin, the Greeks for Mike, the Albanians for Shqiprim, as well as the New Yorkers making the trip out to see Roberto Benitez, Joe Greene and Yathomas Riley, we are expecting an enthusiastic crowd.

Q: Congratulations on being elected as the president of the Boxing Promoter's Association. How are things going with the BPA?

JD: Everything is going really well and moving right along. We just recently entered into a long-term distribution agreement with Round1 magazine. Beginning this summer, Round1 will be distributed directly and for free to boxing fans at events promoted by members of the Boxing Promoters Association. Very soon the BPA website will be up and running and we have another meeting scheduled for early June. People doubted that we would ever be able to get through the first meeting let alone form the Association, and almost a year later we are functioning and have made tremendous progress. There will be some great news released soon about that progress.

Q: Thank you for speaking with us, is there anything you would like to say in closing.

JD: I want to encourage everyone to come out on Friday night to Mohegan Sun. This is going to be a show you won't want to miss. Come back to boxing live: 'what's old is what's new' -- come join us at Mohegan Sun, and if you can't make it live, be sure to watch it on ESPN.

Doors open at 7PM with the first bout scheduled for 7:30PM. ESPN will begin their live coverage at 9PM. Tickets are priced and available at $75, $45 and $30 and are on sale now.

Tickets may be purchased by calling the Star Boxing office at (718) 823-2000. To find out more information about exclusive tickets please call Star Boxing at (718) 823-2000 or visit www.starboxing.com. Tickets may also be purchased through Ticketmaster. Alvarez, Maddalone Score Impressive Stoppages in A/C

On Saturday night, at the Tropicana Casino and Resort in Atlantic City, NJ, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented a thrilling, action-packed night of professional boxing, that had the packed house in attendance asking for more. The five bout card was headlined by Atlantic City's own, Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez taking on hard hitting Alexis Camacho.

Alvarez and Camacho wasted no time getting acquainted, as they both came out in the first firing.

In the 2nd, the southpaw Alvarez began finding the range for his left hand, landing two short overhand lefts that rocked Camacho.

As the fight progressed from each round to the next, Alvarez got stronger and stronger. To Camacho's credit, he showed guts, and a very good chin, as he continued to press forward as Alvarez's punches found their mark time and time again.

In the 7th Camacho seemed to be tiring and Alvarez began pouring it on. Just when it looked as though Camacho might be getting back into the fight, landing some vicious punches to the body of Alvarez, a huge straight left hand from Alvarez sent Camacho flat on his back. The referee began his count, but the ringside doctor had seen enough and climbed through the ropes, halting the contest at 1:30 of the 7th round.

It was a very impressive showing for Alvarez as he looks to get himself back into title contention. With the win Alvarez improves to 21-2, 12KO while Camacho drops to 17-3, 16KO.

MADDALONE DOMINATES
In the co-feature bout of the evening, heavyweight fan-favorite, Vinny Maddalone, improved his record to 33-6, 24KO, with a vicious five round beat down of Dominique Alexander (19-8-1, 9KO).

Maddalone came out in the first, stalking Alexander. It was evident that Alexander was going to look to box and stay on the outside against the heavy-handed Maddalone. Maddalone had an answer for that though as he began unleashing thunderous right and lefts to the body of Alexander.

In the third round the body shots began to take their toll and Alexander's movement slowed, allowing Maddalone to pin him against the ropes and bomb away. A big overhand right dropped Alexander just as the third round was coming to an end.

Maddalone continued where he left off in the 4th, dropping Alexander with a barrage of punches midway through the round and again at the end.

In the 5th a huge left hook to the body dropped Alexander for the fourth time, and the referee had seen enough, calling a halt to the contest at 1:09.

RESULTS FROM RENO

On Friday night, in front of a sold out arena at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, NV, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Let's Get It On Promotions put together an action packed card on ESPN's "Friday Night Fights" headlined by Curtis "Showtime" Stevens, taking on Jesse Brinkley in an Official IBF eliminator for the number two ranking in the super middleweight division.

CURTIS STEVENS (L) AND JESSE BRINKLEY (R) ENGAGED IN AN ALL OUT WAR ON FNF's
Both fighters prior to the fight promised fireworks, and that's exactly what the audience got, as Stevens came out fast and hard in the first, landing vicious left hooks that immediately caught the attention of Brinkley. A left hook near the end of the first caught Brinkley flush on the cheek and created a nasty welt under his right eye.

The middle rounds saw good, highly competitive action, as both fighters showed they were not afraid to stand and trade, which continuously brought the crowd into a roaring frenzy.

While Stevens seemed to be landing the heavier of the blows, Brinkley kept pressing forward and landed shots of his own. In the 6th a big right hand from Brinkley rocked Stevens. Brinkley immediately looked to capitalize and jumped on Stevens, as Stevens laid on the ropes, waving Brinkley to keep coming. Another short right hand caught Stevens on the jaw, forcing him to take a knee to gain his composure.

The remainder of the fight saw both fighters leave everything they had in the ring. As soon as it looked as though Stevens might be gaining the upper hand, Brinkley would storm back with an assault of his own.

Knowing he needed a knockout to win in Brinkley's hometown, Stevens came out aggressive in the 11th, winging shots trying to stop the hometown favorite. The two closed the round once again standing toe-to-toe trading bombs.

                                                JESSE BRINKLEY
In the final round the two once again let it all hang out, each landing huge hooks and right hands. A big right hand sent Stevens falling back into the ropes, causing the referee to jump in and credit Brinkley with another knockdown. As soon as the action resumed the fireworks continued as Brinkley rushed in looking to end the show in fashion. In the process he left himself open as Stevens landed a huge combination off the ropes that staggered Brinkley. With the crowd going crazy the fight ended with both warriors once again trading huge shots.

In the end Brinkley was awarded a grueling twelve round unanimous decision in what is sure to be an early candidate for fight of the year. With the win Brinkley improves his record to 35-5, 22KO and earned him the number two ranking in the IBF super middleweight division. Stevens, who put up an outstanding fight and showed the heart of a champion, drops to 21-3, 15KO.

SERRANO DOMINATES                                                      In the co-feature bout of the evening, up and coming welterweight prospect, Raymond "Tito" Serrano improved his record to a perfect 12-0, 6KO with a dominating eight round decision victory over Ronnie Warrior Jr. (13-3-1, 4KO). In his first scheduled eight rounder as a pro, Serrano used his speed and crisp combination punching to continuously keep Warrior off balance throughout the contest. The 20-year- old Serrano showed much improved boxing ability as he would score with three and four punch combinations and then move out of Warriors range.

All three judges scored the bout were 79-73 for the Philadelphian native. Look for Serrano to be back in action soon as he anticipates a huge 2010.

ANDRADE SCORES 1ST ROUND KNOCKOUT ON ESPN

DEMETRIUS ANDRADE
Going into Friday's matchup against Bernardo Guereca on ESPN's "Friday Night Fights", Demetrius Andrade promised to put on a spectacular performance, and that's exactly what he did. Andrade, who improved his record to 9-0, 7KO landed a picture perfect counter right hook midway through the very first round that sent Guereca to the canvas hard. Guereca was very hurt and remained on the canvas until the referee reached the count of ten. Official time of the stoppage was 1 minute 18 seconds of round number one. Look for Andrade, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, to be back in action very soon.

MADDALONE TURNS IN ANOTHER WARRIOR LIKE EFFORT

Before last night's battle against Jean Marc Mormeck, Vinny Maddalone had promised to turn in an exciting and entertaining performance. After eight hard fought rounds not many people could argue against his statement.

Maddalone took the fight straight to the former two-time cruiserweight champion. The fight, which took place at the Halle Carpentier in Mormeck's native Paris, France, had the packed house in attendance on the edge of their seats for the majority of the contest.

In the end Mormeck was the winner on the judges score cards, winning by scores of 77- 75, 79-75, 79-73, but the warrior Maddalone, won over many of the fans. With the victory Mormeck improved to 34-4, 22KO while Maddalone drops to 32-6, 23KO.

RODRIGUEZ HARD LUCK CONTINUES IN POLAND

On November 27th Delvin Rodriguez took on Rafel Jackiewicz in an official welterweight IBF Title Eliminator. Going in, Rodriguez knew he would have to put on a dominating performance to win a decision, being the fight was taking place in Jackiewicz home country of Poland. Rodriguez stated prior to the fight that he was going to be aggressive and take the fight right to Jackiewicz. Rodriguez also stated he was going to hurt the Pole, and look to knock him out. Rodriguez made it clear that he didn't want to leave any questioning up to the judges, and would put on a performance that no one could argue who the real winner would be. Everything Rodriguez stated and predicted were true, unfortunately, the only thing he was wrong about, was the decision, as Jackiewicz was awarded a highly controversial, if not out right ridiculous unanimous decision victory.

DELVIN RODRIGUEZ
"We were waiting to get a copy of the fight before we released any statement," stated Joe DeGuardia, CEO of Star Boxing, and promoter of Rodriguez. "After watching the fight we believe it is crystal clear that anyone who watches this fight knows who the winner truly is. Hopefully the IBF will closely examine the footage, and grant Delvin a rematch."

"The decision was completely insane," stated Rodriguez long-time manager Stan Hoffman. "There isn't one person that I talked to that night that told me they felt Delvin lost the fight, and that's included almost every Polish writer there."

Rodriguez started fast, and didn't let his foot off the gas for the entire twelve rounds. Rodriguez displayed a lightening quick jab that he pumped into the face of Jackiewicz all night long. He continuously walked the Pole down, landing vicious shots to the body when the two would be in close quarters.

In the 6th a huge over hand right from Rodriguez rocked Jackiewicz, sending him stumbling across the ring. Rodriguez jumped all over his opponent, eventually dropping him with a flurry of punches. To Jackiewicz's credit he was able to survive the round, but took a brutal beating in the process.

Rodriguez continued to outwork Jackiewicz for the remainder of the fight. At the end of the fight Jackiewicz faced showed the wear and tear of the grueling fight he has just been in, Rodriguez on the other hand didn't have a mark on him. Reports from Poland stated that Jackiewicz was urinating blood after the fight, most likely as a result of the heavy body shots he received all night, and was taken to the hospital for observation on a possible concussion and broken jaw, heavy injuries for a fighter who won by scores of 116-112, 115- 112, 114-112.

In the end Rodriguez was credited with throwing 1,025 punches, while Jackiewicz only through 351. Rodriguez also outlanded Jackiewicz 141 to 108 and held a 94-60 edge in power shots.

Rodriguez threw more punches in every single round and was credited with landing more punches in seven of the twelve rounds. In fact, Delvin threw more jabs than Jackiewicz did total punches in eleven of the twelve rounds. Factor in the knockdown in the sixth, a round in which Delvin outlanded Jackiewicz 24-4 in total punches and 22-2 in power shots, the fight could have easily went 8-4, or at worst 7-5 in rounds for Delvin, with the extra point for the knockdown. You could almost make a case for a 10-7 round in the sixth considering the battering Jackiewicz received.

The loss for Rodriguez is painfully similar to what he has went through over the past year.

In November of 2008, Rodriguez went into South Africa to fight Isaac Hlatshwayo in an official IBF Title eliminator, dropping Hlatshwayo in the 9th round, and seemingly out working the South African, in a fight that was eventually ruled a draw.

In August of this year, Rodriguez fought Hlatshwayo again, this time for the vacant IBF welterweight championship, losing a close controversial split decision.

"He just can't seem to get a break," stated DeGuardia. "He fought a brilliant fight against Jackiewicz and did everything he needed to do to win the fight, but for some reason once again he didn't get the decision."

HUSTLER BOXING RESULTS

Last night at the Manhattan Center, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented its premiere installment of "Hustler Boxing" with a five bout card. The show, which was televised live on the Versus Network, attracted some of New York's famous actors and sport figures, including Bert Young (Paulie from Rocky), Chuck Zito, as well as running backs for the New York Giants, Brandon Jacobs, and Danny Ware amongst many others.

ARNAOUTIS (R) LOSES TO COLEMAN IN HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL DECISION
The main event bout of the evening saw the Pride of Greece, "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis take on Tim "Pit Bull" Coleman for the vacant USBA light welterweight championship.

In the first few rounds, both fighters looked to establish their jab, measuring one another from the outside but as each round progressed the action continuously picked up, with Arnaoutis being the aggressor, as Coleman looked to counter.

From the 7th round on Arnaoutis was the much busier fighter, landing good combinations to both the body and head of the backpedaling Coleman. Coleman was game, but Arnaoutis continued to outwork and outgun the Baltimore native down the stretch.

After the twelfth and final round ended the pro Arnaoutis crowd went into an uproar, convinced the Pride of Greece would be crowned the new USBA champ, but surprisingly, Coleman was awarded the split decision victory. Judge Robin Taylor scored the bout 116-112 for Arnaoutis, while judges Kevin Morgan and Glen Feldman had it 115- 113 for Coleman.

A quick panel at ringside, which included press row, the Versus announcers, as well as hall of fame trainer, and HBO Boxing commentator, Emmanuel Steward, all revealed that they felt Arnaoutis was the clear-cut winner. Taking nothing away from Coleman's hard fought spirited effort, Arnaoutis was just the much busier, more active fighter, landing the cleaner blows, and seemingly sweeping the championship rounds.

With the loss Arnaoutis drops to 22-4-2, 10KO, while Coleman improves to 17-1-1, 4KO.

                                  SOLOMON BEATS ROBINSON
In a battle of unbeaten up and coming welterweights, three-time national Golden Gloves Champion, Brad "Busy B" Solomon improved to a perfect 9-0, 3KO with a hard fought eight round unanimous decision over "The New" Ray Robinson (11-1, 4KO).

The fight saw good action from both fighters, particularly in the later rounds, as both Robinson and Solomon stood toe-to-toe exchanging vicious combinations. Although Robinson seemed to finish a bit stronger then Solomon, Solomon built up a big enough lead in the early rounds to pull off the majority decision. Scores were 76-76, which were overturned by two scores of 79-73 for Solomon.

After the fight Robinson's camp complained of repeated head butts from Solomon, one which opened a nasty cut over the left eye of Robinson midway through the fight.

                                  BRIGGS ANNIHILATES MCGEE
In the first televised bout of the night, former WBO heavyweight champion, Brooklyn's own Shannon Briggs (49-5-1, 43KO), returned to the ring for the first time in two years in impressive fashion, knocking out Marcus McGee (22-18, 11KO) with a crippling right hook to the body at 2:01 of the very first round. McGee was down for several minutes following the knockout, with spectators at ringside being quoted as saying they could hear McGee's rips crack from the blow.

Briggs will now look to stay busy as he hopes to get another shot at a heavyweight World Championship.

RUMBLE AT THE HILTON RYE TOWN II RESULTS

On Wednesday night at the Hilton Rye Town Hotel in Rye Brook, NY, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented an exciting five bout card before a near capacity crowd.

Headlining the show was former number one light heavyweight contender, and Westchester County native, David Telesco, taking on former two-time super middleweight champion, Bryon Mitchell, in a match-up of two explosive punchers.

                                   MITCHELL (R) STOPS TELESCO
Both fighters came out in the first looking to measure each other with their jabs, and find the range to land their power shots.

Near the end of the first a huge counter overhand right from Mitchell caught Telesco flush on the chin while Telesco was looking to exchange, sending him to the canvas just as the bell sounded to end the first. Telesco jumped up immediately, but seemed to be on shaky legs.

In the second Telesco began using his jab to keep Mitchell at bay, and landed a nice left hook midway through the round that seemed to stun the hard pressing Mitchell. With Telesco's back against the ropes Mitchell landed another huge counter overhand right just as Telesco was unleashing a left hook, dropping Telesco face first to the canvas.

Telesco tried to get to his feet, but was in no condition to continue, forcing the referee to call a halt to the contest at 2:08 of the second round.

With the win, Mitchell improves to 28-5-1, 21KO while Telesco drops to 30-7-1, 25KO.

                                  DOUGLAS DECISIONS SCHNEIDER
In the co-feature bout of the evening, former 1996 Guyana Olympian "Big" John Douglas improved to 7-14-3, 3KO with a controversial six round decision over local fan favorite Jon "The Fighting Marine" Schneider, who dropped to 7-4-1, 5KO.

It was evident from the opening bell that both Schneider and Douglas came to fight and were eager to engage at any chance they could.

Schneider was the sharper of the two, but Douglas was effective with his wide looping shots.

In the sixth and final round the two combatants went toe-to-toe not wanting to leave the decision up to the judge's scorecards.

When the judge's scorecards were announced declaring Douglas the split decision winner, the pro-Schneider crowd voiced their displeasure as the fight truly could have went either way.

ANDRADE TRAIN KEEPS ON ROLLING

On Saturday at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, Rhode Island, the 2007 U.S. Amateur Champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Demetrius Andrade improved his record to (8-0, 6KO) by beating previously unbeaten Chris Chatman (4-1, 2KO) in front of his hometown fans. The bout was promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions in association with Jimmy Burchfield's Classic Entertainment and Sports.

ANOTHER UNBEATEN, ANOTHER IMPRESSIVE SHOWING FOR ANDRADE
The 21-year-old Providence native Andrade, who is co- promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, and is widely considered to be boxing' s next superstar, came out in the first using his noticeable size and reach advantage to score telling blows to both the body and head of Chatman.

At the weigh-in on Friday words were exchanged between the two fighters, which concluded with Andrade promising to punish and Chatman, and that's just what he did, working off a crisp jab to continuously score vicious four and five punch combinations at will.

Andrade repeatedely, peppered Chatman from the outside. Chatman hung tough but he was outgunned by Andrade round after round. At the end of the day Andrade picked up another sensational victory, pitching a shut out on all three judges scorecards. For the highly touted Andrade this was his eighth fight as a professional in a little less than a year. Each time out he has been nothing less than spectacular and has showed why many boxing experts chose him as the top prospect to come out of the 2008 Olympics. Look for Andrade to be back in action very soon.

VIP BOXING II RESULTS

On Wednesday night Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented it's second installment of VIP Boxing before a packed house at the beautiful Russo's On The Bay in Howard Beach, NY. The show featured six fights, an hour long cocktail party, followed by a five course meal of indescribable elegance.

                                 VARGAS (L) OUTWORKS NELSON (R)
Headlining the card was Star Boxing's heavyweight and the 2004 U.S. Olympic Team Captain "Devastain" Devin Vargas taking on Terrell "Baby Bull" Nelson.

Vargas came out in the first, scoring good combinations to both the body and head of the hard charging Nelson.

The middle rounds saw Vargas counter effectively from the outside. Vargas continuously landed a beautiful left hook to the body followed by a left hook to the head combination that began causing swelling under Nelson's right eye.

To Nelson's credit he kept coming, looking to exchange, but in the end, Vargas was too fast and too accurate, winning a clear cut unanimous decision.

After the fight it was revealed that Vargas severely injured his right hand in the first round, causing him to abandon the right and work solely off his left.

With the win, Vargas improves to 18-1, 7KO while Nelson drops to 8-9, 5KO.

BENITEZ RETURNS IN FASHION
The co-feature bout of the evening saw the return of Star Boxing's super bantamweight prospect Roberto Benitez, as he improved his record to a perfect 6-0, 3KO as he completely outworked Angel Paneto (4-6-2, 2KO) over six entertaining rounds.

Benitez, a 2000 U.S. Olympic team alternate, and 2004 Olympic teammate to Vargas, was coming off a three year layoff, but by his performance though it was hard to tell.

Benitez landed flush combinations, mixing it up to both the body and head, dropping his opponent various times throughout the fight. Somehow though Paneto was able to make it to the sixth and final bell.

In the end it was all Benitez as he didn't lose a round on any of the three judges scorecards. Look for Benitez to be back in action very soon.

ANDRADE PUTS ON A SHOW FOR HOMETOWN FANS

DEMETRIUS ANDRADE

Demetrius Andrade promised to put on a spectacular performance in front of his hometown fans on Friday night, and he did not disappoint. Fighting in the co-feature bout of the evening at the Twin River Event Center in Lincoln, RI, the Providence native Andrade improved his record to (7-0, 6KO), completely dominated previously undefeated John Williams (3-1-1, 2KO) stopping him in the final round of their scheduled six round jr. middleweight contest.

The 2007 amateur world champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian Andrade, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, is widely considered to be the top prospect in all of boxing and with performance like this, it would be hard to argue otherwise.

The undefeated Williams, who was a three- time golden gloves champion as an amateur, was supposed to be a test for the young 21- year-old Andrade, but right from the opening bell Andrade's blazing hand speed and concussive power were on display. Andrade scored with damaging combinations to both the body and head of Williams throughout the fight.

In the sixth and final round Andrade began to really pour it on. With Williams taking heavy punishment the referee called a halt to the contest. Official time of the stoppage was 2:33. It was yet another very impressive performance by the highly touted Andrade. Look for him to be back in action very soon.

The Demetrius Andrade - John Williams bout was promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, in association with Jimmy Burchfield's Classic Entertainment and Sports.

MOHEGAN SUN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING RESULTS

RODRIGUEZ and HLATSHWAYO BATTLED IT OUT FOR ANOTHER TWELVE ENTERTAINING ROUNDS

On Saturday night, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing put together an exciting seven bout card before a packed house at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT.

In the main event Star Boxing's IBF #2 rated welterweight, Delvin Rodriguez battled IBF #3 rated Isaac Hlatshwayo for the vacant IBF Welterweight Championship of the World. The fight was a rematch of their highly entertaining draw that took place back in November of last year.

The fight started well for Rodriguez as he was the much busier fighter, landing clean shots to both the head and body of the South African Hlatshwayo. In the second, a right hand staggered Hlatshwayo, but he showed guts as he continued to press forward, taking some big shots from Rodriguez in the process.

There was good two way action in the middle rounds, with Rodriguez looking to box as Hlatshwayo pressed forward looking to fight on the inside. Rodriguez's right hand continued to connect from the outside and the effects began to show on Hlatshwayo's face as his left eye began closing.

The action continued into the twelfth and final round with both fighters eagerly exchanging toe-to-toe, not wanting to leave the decision up to the judge's scorecards. In the end judge Glen Feldman had the bout 115-113 for Rodriguez but was overturned by judge Tony Paolillo who had it 116-112 and judge Isaac Tshabalala who scored it 116-113 for Hlatshwayo.

It was a very tough loss for Rodriguez to swallow as he seemingly did enough once again to get the decision win over Hlatshwayo. Unfortunately the judges didn't agree yet again. With the loss Rodriguez drops to 24-3- 2, 14KO while Hlatshwayo improves to 29-1-1, 10KO.

*Rodriguez will now need to see a doctor as he reportedly suffered an injury to his right hand midway through the fight*

                                         ANDRADE WITH PROMOTER JOE DEGUARDIA

In the co-feature bout of the evening, the 2007 amateur world champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian, Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade improved to a perfect 6-0, 5KO with a spectacular second round knockout over Chad Greenleaf (11-13-1, 5KO).

Andrade, who is co-promoted by Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, showed why he is widely considered to be the top prospect in all of boxing, with a near perfect performance.

Andrade displayed his blinding hand speed in the first, landing with four and five punch combinations to both the body and head of Greenleaf. In the second round a huge right hook to the body completely crippled Greenleaf as he hit the canvas hard. In no shape to continue the referee called a halt to the contest. Official time of the stoppage was 1:38 of the second round. Look for Andrade to be back in action very soon.

Marvelous Tarvis Simms moved one step closer to a major fight in the middleweight division with an impressive eight round decision over Marcus Upshaw.

Simms, who is now back fighting under the Star Boxing banner, used good combinations to outwork the much taller Upshaw throughout. In the fourth a left hook from Simms dropped Upshaw but he was able to survive the round.

Upshaw hung tough, but in the end Simms simply had too much fire power. With the victory Simms improves to 25-0-1, 11KO while Upshaw drops to 11-4-1, 5KO.
Star Boxing's welterweight prospect, Raymond "Tito" Serrano improved his record to 10-0, 6KO with a third round TKO over Jessie Davis (11-14, 8KO).

Davis was eager to exchange, but Serrano simply had too much power. Serrano continuously tagged Davis with huge shots through the first three rounds but to his credit Davis continued to come forward.

In the third, a beautiful right hook to the head, followed by a huge left hook to the body sent Davis to the canvas. Davis was able to beat the count, but Serrano soon after pinned Davis against the ropes and began unloading heavy shots. With Davis being punished the referee jumped in and called a halt to the contest at 2:02 of the third round.

Light heavyweight Yathomas Riley celebrated his 27th birthday in fashion, by picking up his second impressive knockout victory in less then three weeks by knocking out veteran Tiwon Taylor (26-16-1, 19KO) at 2:59 of the very first round.

Riley, who is promoted by Star Boxing, was in command throughout the first, dropping Taylor midway through the round. Just as the bell was to sound to end the first a huge straight right sent Taylor down again, this time hard. Although the round was ending the stoppage was a smart decision. It was a very impressive victory for the light heavyweight prospect Riley who improved his record to 7-0, 5KO.

STEVENS ANNIHILATES WILCZEWSKI!!!

CURTIS "SHOWTIME" STEVENS W/ PROMOTER JOE DEGUARDIA

Star Boxing's Curtis "Showtime" Stevens (21-2, 15) showed why he is one of the most feared super middleweights in the world, with a sensational third round TKO over previously unbeaten Piotr Wilczewski (22-1, 7KO).

Stevens came out in the first round firing, eventually dropping Wilczewski hard with a right uppercut. Luckily for Wilczewski the end of the round was near and he was able to survive.

In the third a huge left uppercut from Stevens dropped Wilczewski hard again. He was able to get to his feet but was visibly still hurt. Stevens seized the opportunity and jumped all over Wilczewski. With Wilczewski being helplessly beaten against the ropes, the referee called a halt to the contest at 1:47 of the third round.

It was a huge win for Stevens as he showed why he is a serious contender in the super middleweight division.

Boxing's hottest young star, 2007 amateur world champion, and 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade improved his record to a perfect 5-0, 4KO with an impressive four round decision win over Tony Hirsch (8-2-1, 4KO) on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights". It was Andrade's third showing on FNF this year, and just as in the previous two he looked spectacular.

DEMETRIUS ANDRADE
The 21-year-old Providence, RI native Andrade, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Banner Promotions, used his speed and height advantage to out work and out box Hirsch.

Hirsch was game but was simply not on the same level of the highly touted Andrade.

Look for Andrade to be back in action very soon.

Undefeated and world ranked heavyweight contender Kevin Johnson (22-0-1, 9KO) has one question for The Klitschko Management Group, "What time does the next flight to Germany leave?" Johnson, coming off an impressive TKO victory over undefeated US Olympic Team Captain Devin Vargas on May 15th looks to prove he is the leading US heavyweight contender and next heavyweight champion. "It's as simple as picking up the phone and calling Star Boxing," Johnson stated after learning that David Haye pulled out of his June 20th match with Wladimir Klitschko. "I'm ready to show the entire world what boxing experts already know, the next heavyweight champion of the world is from the United States and his name is Kevin Johnson."

HARRAH'S RESULTS

On May 15th Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented a thrilling five bout card at The Concert Venue at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, NJ. The card was broadcast live on the always exciting ESPN2 "Friday Night Fights".

KINGPIN CEMENTS POSITION AS TOP AMERICAN HEAVY
The main event bout of the evening carried heavy implications for boxing, especially heavyweight boxing, as two of America's best heavyweight prospects Kevin "Kingpin Johnson (21-0-1, 8KO) and "Devastatin" Devin Vargas (17-0, 7KO) put their undefeated records on the line to stake their claim as the number one American heavyweight in the world.

Round one started out with Vargas looking to get inside and land combinations against Johnson as Johnson looked to measure Vargas from the outside with his jab. Early on it was clear Johnson had the quicker hands but the smaller Vargas was outworking the bigger Johnson.

Round two began with both fighters trading heavy shots. Johnson began unleashing a lethal left hook but Vargas would respond well as he continued to press forward and land shots to both the body and head while on the inside.

Vargas landed thunderous blows to start the third while Johnson laid on the ropes shaking his head as if the punches had no affect. With thirty seconds left in the round Johnson landed three vicious left hooks that stunned Vargas. With Vargas against the ropes Johnson began unloading heavy shots. Right as the ten second bell sounded Vargas took a knee to avoid further punishment.

In the fifth round Johnson forced Vargas to take another knee. Just as Vargas seemed ready to go he landed a huge right hand and left hook that seemed to get Johnson's attention. The fighters closed the round exchanging blows.

In the sixth round Johnson began showing he was just too fast and too strong for Vargas as he began landing at will. With Vargas taking punishment against the ropes his corner threw in the towel, giving Johnson the TKO victory.

It was a very entertaining fight and the biggest win in Johnson's career. Johnson improved his record to 22-0-1, 9KO's as he scored his third consecutive knockout in a row, this time against highly regarded, undefeated 2004 Olympic team captain Devin Vargas. With the loss Vargas's record falls to (17-1, 7KO's).

TERON WINS STAR BOXING DEBUT
In the co-feature bout of the evening Jorge "The Truth" Teron (23-1-1, 15KO) made his Star Boxing debut a successful one and avenged the only loss of his career when he defeated the always tough and game Aldo Valtierra (25-11, 13KO) in a ten round lightweight affair.

From the opening bell Teron showed he was much quicker and much shaper then the Mexican Valtierra. Valtierra hung tough but the longer Teron continuously peppered him with crisp combinations to both the body and head from the outside while Valtierra kept coming forward looking to score on the inside.

Valtierra gave a very spirited effort, but in the end Teron was busier and more accurate with his punches, earning him a clear cut ten round unanimous decision.
Undercard Results: Bruce Seldon TKO 5 Gabe Brown, Chuck Mussachio W6 Carl Daniels, John Lennox W4 Robert Brown.

VIP BOXING RESULTS

On Tuesday Night Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing, presented its first installment of "VIP Boxing" at the elegant Russo's On The Bay in Howard Beach, NY. The card was made up of five entertaining fights, headlined by Star Boxing's heavyweight fan favorite Vinny Maddalone taking on Benji "Boom Boom" Baker.

MADDALONE DOESN'T DISAPPOINT
Maddalone, who is known for his all-action come forward style, didn't disappoint his hometown fans, going straight at Baker from the opening bell, landing huge left hooks and thunderous overhand rights. A big overhand right as the bell sounded to end the first sent Baker down hard.

Rounds two and three saw more of the same from Maddalone, as he continuously stalked Baker, opening up on him with any chance he could. A heavy barrage of punches from Maddalone caused Baker to take a knee towards the end of round three.

In the fourth round a huge left hook to the body sent Baker down hard, Baker survived the round, but was clearly in bad shape. Upon the advice of the ringside physician the bout was stopped after the 4th, giving Maddalone the TKO victory. With the victory Maddalone improved his record to (32-5, 23KO) while Baker dropped to (18-6, 9KO). The victory sets up a huge international fight for Maddalone this summer. More details to come soon.

STEVENS, MOUTON GO TO WAR
In the co-feature bout of the evening, Star Boxing's exciting super middleweight Curtis "Showtime" Stevens improved to 20-2, 14KO, winning an eight round war over dangerous Don Mouton (9-4-1, 8KO).

Mouton showed a granite chin throughout, but Stevens simply had too much fire power. Stevens worked off a good jab to set up his lethal left hook that seemed to connect every time he threw it. When Mouton would cover up on the ropes Stevens would open up, landing beautiful four and five punch combinations, but to Mouton's credit he took the shots well.

Each fighter had their moments throughout, but Stevens punches seemed to have much more of an effect. In the 8th and final round both fighters engaged in a heavy exchange bringing the packed house to a standing ovation. All in all it was a very impressive performance for Stevens as he improved to a perfect 3- 0 under the Star Boxing banner.

ESPN2 FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS RESULTS STAR BOXING SCORES A HAT TRICK: RODRIGUEZ, SERRANO, ANDRADE ALL VICTORIOUS

PHOTO BY STAR BOXING PHOTOGRAPHER MARTY ROSENGARTEN

On Friday March 6th Star Boxing put together an exciting seven bout card at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT. The card, which was aired live on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights" featured Star Boxing's top welterweight contenders Delvin Rodriguez defending his USBA welterweight championship against Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez. At stake was not only the USBA welterweight title, but also the number two ranking in the IBF world ratings.

RODRIGUEZ DEFENDS USBA CROWN
On Friday March 6th Star Boxing put together an exciting seven bout card at the beautiful Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT. The card, which was aired live on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights" was highlighted by Star Boxing's top welterweight contenders Delvin Rodriguez defending his USBA welterweight championship against Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez. At stake was not only the USBA welterweight title, but also the number two ranking in the IBF world ratings.

Alvarez started fast, charging right at the defending champion Rodriguez while Rodriguez looked to establish his jab and box from the outside. A straight left hand briefly staggered Rodriguez mid way through the first round but that seemed to only wake up Rodriguez as he began connecting with his right hand from the outside.

The middle rounds saw each fighter land telling blows, rocking each other on more than one occasion. Every time it seemed as though Rodriguez would begin to develop a steady rhythm, Alvarez would land a big left hand from his southpaw stance.

As the rounds progressed on, Rodriguez seemed to be in control landing the harder punches from the outside, while Alvarez looked to close the distance with wide hooks, and straight lefts.

In the 11th round a straight right hand from Rodriguez dropped Alvarez but Alvarez seemed to be more stunned then actually hurt and fought back hard the rest of the round.

In the twelfth round Rodriguez stunned Alvarez, and went in for the kill throwing everything he had at Alvarez. With Rodriguez opening up Alvarez threw a perfect counter that rocked Rodriguez. With both fighters right eyes closing, they traded in the center of the ring until the final bell sounded.

After twelve grueling rounds, Rodriguez was awarded a close unanimous decision improving his record to (24-2-2, 14KO) while Alvarez dropped to (20-2, 11KO).

SERRANO DECISIONS KRUPP
In the co-feature bout of the evening, Star Boxing's 19-year-old welterweight phenom Raymond "Tito" Serrano took on once beaten "Smokin" Jay Krupp in a six round welterweight contest.

The first round started out quick with both fighters firing shots. A huge overhand right sent Krupp down hard, but Krupp was able to beat the count. The round ended with each fighter standing toe-to-toe firing shots.

Round two started where round two left off with both Serrano and Krupp trading at any chance they could. Serrano seemed to be the busier of the fighter, and closed the round strong landing a big left hook.

These heavy exchanges became a common theme for the rest of the fight and after six hard fought entertaining rounds, Serrano was awarded a well-deserved unanimous decision. With the victory Serrano improves his record to (9-0, 5KO) while Krupp drops to (12-2, 5KO).

ANDRADE SHINES IN ESPN2 DEBUT
In the first televised bout of the evening 2007 amateur world champion and 2008 U.S. Olympian Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (3-0, 3KO) needed less than one round to completely annihilate Tom Joseph (4-2-1) in his ESPN2 "Friday Night Fights" debut.

Andrade, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Art Pelullo's Banner Promotions, showed why many considered him to be the top amateur prospect to come out of the Olympics, as he came out firing blistering combinations to both the head and body of his opponent. Andrade showed tremendous hand speed, seemingly landing every meaningful shot he threw. Joseph showed heart by hanging tough but Andrade was simply too much. With Joseph absorbing heavy punishment the referee called a halt to the contest at 1:53.

Other Results: Tyrone Miles W4 Chris Aucoin, Josh Harris KO1 David Williams, Frank Trader KO2 Edwin Rosado, Simeon Dunwell W4 Shakha Moore.

A FAMILY AFFAIR ROONEY VS. ROONEY
ROUND 1 KICKED OFF MARCH 6TH AT MOHEGAN SUN

On March 6th at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, CT Star Boxing's 19-year-old welterweight phenom Raymond "Tito" Serrano (8-0, 5KO) will step into the ring against world renowned trainer, Kevin Rooney Sr.'s protégé "Smokin" Jay Krupp (12-1, 5KO). The bout is scheduled for eight rounds in the welterweight division and will be that evening's ESPN2 "Friday Night Fights" co-main event.

Standing across the ring from Team Krupp on fight night will be a very familiar face, Rooney's son Kevin Jr. Kevin Jr., who serves as the Director of Media Relations for Serrano's promotional company Star Boxing, has known Krupp for the past eight years, serving as both a friend and even assistant trainer at times during Krupp's career.

Rooney Jr. graduated from Fordham University in 2006 and has been working with Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing since early 2008. Rooney Sr. is most famous for his work with former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson. After the death of Cus D'Amato, Rooney Sr. guided Tyson to becoming the youngest heavyweight champion ever, winning the belt when he was just 20 years old.

PHOTO BY STAR BOXING PHOTOGRAPHER MARTY ROSENGARTEN

                    ROONEY JR. WITH JOE DEGUARDIA:
"There will definitely be some weird feelings standing in the opposite corner from my father and Jay come fight night," stated Rooney Jr. "I have known Jay for a long time now, I consider him one of my good friends, so of course I want him to do well, and be successful in his boxing career. That being said, business is business and Raymond is our guy. It makes it even harder for me because since working at Star, Raymond and I have built a very good relationship with one another. If there was a way that both guys could come out victorious that would be great, but that's not the business we are in. Bottom line I am just hoping that it turns out to be great fight which we are all expecting it to be, and most importantly that both Raymond and Jay walk away from the fight safe and sound."

KEVIN ROONEY SR: PHOTO BY LISA SCOTT
"Not only is KC (the name Rooney Sr. uses for Kevin Jr.) my son but he is also my best friend, but come March 6th he is going to be my enemy," jokes Rooney Sr. "I told him not to worry about any hard feeling's, Jay and I both know this is a business and that KC will have to be on Serrano's side for this fight. It will definitely be a first for us though. We have been in the ring together so many times before, whether it was when KC was fighting or when he was helping me out with my fighters, but never before on opposite sides. It's an exciting moment for me as a father though seeing the success my son is experiencing with Star Boxing, and I wish nothing but the best for him and all of the fighters on the Star Boxing roster."

On March 6th, Delvin Rodriguez (23-2-2, 14KO) will look to defend his USBA welterweight championship, and earn the number two ranking in the IBF world ratings when he takes on highly touted welterweight contender Shamone "The Truth" Alvarez (20-1, 11KO). The bout will take place at the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT and be broadcast live as that evening's ESPN2 "Friday Night Fights" main event.

To get prepared for the slick southpaw Alvarez, Rodriguez and his camp called on the services of two of Star Boxing's other prized fighter's Raymond "Tito" Serrano (8-0, 5KO) and Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade (2-0, 2KO), who coincidently will both be fighting on the undercard on March 6th. Andrade will open the "Friday Night Fights" telecast with Serrano fighting in the live co-feature.

Although Rodriguez lives in Danbury, CT he trains in the Catskills, at his manager Stan Hoffman's training camp in Kerhonkson, NY. Hoffman has owned and operated the camp, which is made up of a Victorian mansion, a separate three bedroom house, a cabin, a full operating boxing gym, and an outdoor track, for the last 25 years. The camp can house up to 19 fighters at one time.

"This is the second straight camp that Serrano has come up to help me prepare for a fight, but this was the first time I worked with Demetrius though," stated Rodriguez. "I really appreciate them coming up here and working with me. They are two really good prospects and I see a very bright future for both of them. As the more experienced professional I try to help them out in anyway I can, inside and outside the ring. Hopefully what I am trying to tell them will benefit them in their careers and make them better fighters, both physically and mentally."

                                        RAYMOND "TITO" SERRANO
"Working with Delvin is a great learning experience for me at this stage of my career," said the 19-year-old Serrano who will compete in his first scheduled eight rounder and first nationally televised co-feature when he takes on once beaten "Smokin" Jay Krupp (12-1, 5 KO). "We work really good together, and I think it's great that we are both promoted by Star Boxing, and both being able to help each other out for our fight's on March 6th."

                                   DEMETRIUS "BOO BOO" ANDRADE
Andrade, the 2007 amateur world champion, and 2008 Olympian, voiced a similar opinion as Serrano. "It's like we are one big happy family here at Star Boxing," said Andrade with a smile. "I think it's pretty special that the three of us are promoted by the same promoter (Andrade is also co-promoted by Art Pelullo's Banner Promotions), all fighting on ESPN2, and all working together to help each other get ready for our upcoming fights. It is going to be a very exciting night of boxing and I foresee a clean sweep for Star Boxing on March 6th."

Also on the line will be the number two ranking in the IBF world ratings.

                    DEMETRIUS "BOO BOO" ANDRADE
Andrade, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing, and Art Pelullo's Banner Promotions, was last seen in action in his home state of Rhode Island on November 29th where he handed out a vicious four round beating of Eric Marriott before the referee finally called a halt to the contest at 50 seconds of the fourth round.

Andrade, who was chosen by ESPN.com's Dan Rafael as one of boxing's top prospects this past year, has been very impressive thus far in his young pro career, garnering rave reviews from some of boxing's top experts. "The Providence, R.I., native nicknamed "Boo Boo" was the best pro prospect on the 2008 U.S. Olympic team and first squad member to turn pro in October. Besides making the Olympics, Andrade, who started boxing at age 6, was an amateur world champion, two-time U.S. national champion and two-time national Golden Gloves champion. He has everything you like to see in a rising talent: good size (he's 6-foot-1), a deep amateur background, fast hands, power and ring smarts," stated Rafael.

"I feel very blessed to be given an opportunity to showcase my skills on ESPN2 this early in my career," stated Andrade. "I want to thank my promoters Star Boxing and Banner Promotions for putting this fight together and am just really looking forward to getting a chance to perform to the best of my ability on March 6th. The Mohegan Sun is just about an hour or so from my home in Providence, RI so I am looking forward to having my fans and family there supporting me and cheering me on. It is always nice to get a chance to perform in front of them, to me it's my way of giving back to them and saying thank you for all the support you have shown me throughout my career. I plan on opening the "Friday Night Fights" show with some serious fireworks so make sure to tune in early because I promise you are not going to want to miss it. I am ready to start taking my career to the next level in 2009 and it all starts on the 6th."

STAR BOXING RESULTS FROM BALLY'S IN ATLANTIC CITY NEW JERSEY

Nov 08, 2008 On Friday Night before a sold out crowd, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing presented yet another exciting night of boxing at the beautiful Bally's Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ. The seven bout card which featured some of boxing's hottest up and coming prospects was headlined by the WBA #5 rated heavyweight in the world Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson taking on Matt Greer in a ten round heavyweight contest.

KINGPIN DESTROYS GREER

Johnson came out looking very determined as he immediately began firing blistering shots at Greer. Greer who has never been stopped as a professional showed his toughness as he refused to go down throughout the fight. Johnson's accuracy was on display as he seemingly landed every single punch he threw. With Greer's face covered in blood, and the amount of punishment he was taking, his corner had no choice but to throw in the towel mid way through the third round. It was a very impressive victory for Johnson who showed once again he has tremendous power along with lightening quick hands and surely is the #1 heavyweight prospect in the world. With the victory Johnson improves to (21-0-1, 8KO) while his opponent Greer drops to (12-4, 11KO).

CAUTHEN, ALVAREZ BATTLE TO THE FINISH

In the co-feature bout of the evening, Star Boxing welterweights Terrance Cauthen (33-5, 9KO) and Shamone Alvarez (20-1, 11KO) participated in the fight of the night, with Alvarez, who is co-promoted by Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing and Warriors Boxing winning a close majority decision. Alvarez pressed the fight as Cauthen landed good lead right hooks and straight left hands from the outside. When Alvarez would get in close enough he would throw vicious combinations to the body trying to slow down Cauthen's movement. This is when the best action of the fight happened as Cauthen would willingly engage with Alvarez, each fighter landing heavy blows. Right before the third round ended Alvarez landed a straight left handed followed by a right hook that briefly staggered Cauthen. Cauthen fell to a knee but immediately jumped right back up as he seemed to be more off balance then actually hurt.

RAYMOND SERRANO WINS AGAIN

On the undercard, Star Boxing's 19-year-old welterweight phenom, Raymond Serrano improved his record to (8-0, 5KO) with a win over game Shakha Moore (10-13-2, 2KO). It was an exciting fight from the get go, as Serrano went right at Moore looking to take his more experienced opponent out in the very first round. Moore showed guts throughout the fight, never giving into the relentless attack of Serrano. After six hard fought, exciting rounds, Serrano was awarded a well deserved unanimous decision. It was the first time Serrano had gone six rounds and he seemed to do it with ease. Expect to see the exciting Serrano back in action very soon.

CURTIS STEVENS ANNIHILATES SMITH

In a battle of super middleweights, Star Boxing's Curtis "Showtime" Stevens completely annihilated Ray Smith, knocking Smith out at 48 seconds of the very first round. A right hand sent Smith to the ropes and a thunderous left hook to the temple sent Smith crashing to the canvas. Smith attempted to get up but was in no condition to continue as he stumbled all the way across the ropes before the referee grabbed him, preventing him from collapsing again. Stevens improves his record to 19-2, 14KO while Smith drops to 8-3, 2KO.

WELCOME TO THE MAJORS DEMETRIUS ANDRADE!
2008 Olympian's Pro-Debut Nothing Less Than Spectacular

Demetrius Andrade was the most sought after Olympian following the 2008 Olympics. Anyone who witnessed him competing in the amateurs always said, as good as he was in the amateur ranks, he would only be that much better as a professional. As both of his co- promoters Joe DeGuardia of Star Boxing and Art Pelullo of Banner Promotions have stated time and time again, "Demetrius has all the tools to be the next big superstar in boxing." Those tools, which include lightening quick hands, along with an excellent jab, and crisp combination punching to both the head and body, were all on display in his pro-debut, televised live nationally on Versus, Thursday October 23rd from the Northern Quest Casino in Airway Heights, Washington. Andrade completely destroyed his opponent Patrick Cape (4-3, 2 KOs) stopping him at :24 seconds of the second round.

DEMETRIUS ANDRADE

Andrade, the first 2008 U.S. Olympian to make his pro-debut, came out stalking Cape from the opening bell, measuring his opponent up with his long jab. When Andrade got close enough he would unleash a devastating left hand right down the middle that repeatedly snapped Cape's head back and had him reeling just seconds into the fight. Cape realizing that he would not stand a chance with Andrade by staying on the outside attempted to get in close and tie up Andrade. Showing tremendous poise and ring generalship, especially for someone making their pro- debut, Andrade would flurry while on the inside with crisp combinations to both the head and body not allowing his opponent to get a breather. At the end of the first round with Cape holding his right arm, Andrade unleashed two thundering left hooks to the body, followed by an overhand left that dropped Cape for the count of nine. The left to the head was what put Cape down, but the second left hook to the body was the real damaging blow. Cape was literally saved by the bell as the round ended before the referee could signal the resumption of the ring hostilities.

Andrade began the second round going right at Cape looking to put him away. A straight left hand landed flush on Cape's jaw while was trying to pull away and Cape went down immediately. Rather then even start his count the referee called a halt to the contest at :24 seconds of the second round.

It was a great showing for the highly touted, former amateur world champion. Although it was just his first fight, for those watching it was hard to disagree with the notion that Andrade is truly something special. Look for Andrade to be back in action very shortly.

ANNIHILATES OPPONENT IN VERY FIRST ROUND!!!
BRONX, NY - Aug 31, 2008: Raymond Serrano (7-0, 5KO's), Star Boxing's 19   year old welterweight phenomenon, scored a first round knockout over veteran Jimmy LeBlanc (11-15-4, 3KO's) Friday night at the New Alhambra in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Serrano came out very aggressive and started landing big shots against his opponent. Serrano seemed to be on a completely different level then the much more experienced LeBlanc as he continuously teed off on his opponent with huge over hand rights. Serrano dropped his opponent three times before the referee called a halt to the contest at 2:37 of the very first round. "I felt great coming in," said Serrano. He was looking to box so I knew right away I was going to have to put a lot of pressure on him. I knew after I hit him with the first big right hand that it would only be a matter of time before I stopped him. It was great fighting here in Philadelphia, and I want to thank everyone who came out to see me tonight. I am going to enjoy the holiday weekend and then I will be back in the gym on Wednesday. I am looking to fight hopefully at the end of September maybe early October, whatever my promoter Joe DeGuardia and Star Boxing put together for me I will be ready to go." Serrano improves his record to 7-0, 5KO's. About Star Boxing

ARNAOUTIS MOVES CLOSER TO TITLE SHOT WITH DOMINATING PERFORMANCE OVER ANKRAH

The Pride of Greece, "Mighty" Mike Arnaoutis took one step closer to a title shot with a dominating performance over very game Ben Ankrah.

Arnaoutis came out fast, bouncing on his toes and using his jab to measure up the African Ankrah. The southpaw Arnaoutis began unleashing his vicious left hand early in the third round, but to Ankrah's credit he just kept coming forward. By the middle of the fight it was apparent Arnaoutis was content on boxing and scoring from the outside against his much slower opponent. Arnaoutis connected with some thundering blows throughout the fight, at times rocking Ankrah, but Ankrah was able to make it to the final bell.

After ten rounds of excited action "Mighty" Mike was awarded a well-deserved unanimous decision, winning by scores of 100-90, 100-90, 96-94. Arnaoutis improves his record to 21-2-2, 10KO while Ankrah drops to 19-7-1, 9KO.

          MADDALONE STOPS NELSON IN THRILLER
In the fight of the night Star Boxing's heavyweight Vinny Maddalone (31-4, 22KO) stopped Terrell "Baby Bull" Nelson (8-7, 5KO) in the second round.

Maddalone who has been thrilling boxing fans since he first turned professional, did not disappoint the pro Maddalone crowd as he chose to fight Nelson in a phone booth from the start of the fight. The two exciting heavyweights traded bombs from the get go, each giving as good as they got in the opening round.

At the start of the second round Maddalone jumped all over Nelson as Nelson was still showing the effects of the first round. Maddalone landed enormous over hand rights and left hooks while Nelson laid on the ropes. With Nelson taking severe punishment, the referee jumped in and called a halt to the contest at 0:45 seconds of the second round.
